A huge thank-you to all of our Members and friends who joined us for our Recovery Dinner Party at the end of September! We loved having the opportunity to come together, share a meal, dance, laugh, and celebrate each other. This event was all about showing our Members how much they are appreciated and how important you are to our RISE community!

Addiction recovery is important because it involves more than just abstaining from substances. It’s about building support systems, creating stability, and fostering a community where people feel connected and supported. Events like this serve as a reminder that recovery does not have to be a solitary journey.

Thank you for being part of our community, for showing up, and for reminding us what recovery is all about. We appreciate each and every one of you! 🫶

Here’s to recovery, connection, and many more reasons to celebrate together!

đź’śKNOW IT: Sometimes the Signs Are Easy to Miss

Domestic violence doesn’t always come with obvious signs.

Sometimes, it’s the small changes in someone you know that make you wonder if something isn’t quite right.

Maybe they don’t come around as much anymore. They start canceling plans or stop doing things they used to enjoy. They seem nervous when their partner calls. They check in with their partner constantly or seem like they need permission before making plans. They become quieter, less confident, or simply don’t seem like themselves.

Individually, these things may not immediately make you think of domestic violence. But changes in someone’s behavior can be worth paying attention to, especially when there seems to be fear or control within their relationship.

You don’t have to know for sure what’s happening before you reach out.

You don’t have to confront their partner.
You don’t have to convince them to leave.
And you don’t have to have all the answers.

Sometimes, simply saying “I’ve noticed you haven’t seemed like yourself lately. Is everything okay?” can open a door.

If they choose to talk, listen. Believe them. Avoid judgment. Remind them that you’re there and that support is available when they’re ready.

đź’ś Sometimes the signs are easy to miss. Knowing what to look for can help us be there when someone needs us most.

KNOW IT. NAME IT. CHANGE IT.
