MYTH: “Gastroparesis is just a stomach ache.”

FACT: Gastroparesis is much more than an occasional stomach ache. It is a chronic digestive disorder that affects the stomach’s ability to empty food properly. Symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, bloating, abdominal pain, feeling full after eating only a small amount, and loss of appetite.

Because these symptoms can sometimes be mistaken for other digestive issues, recognizing the signs is an important first step toward getting the right diagnosis and care.

This Gastroparesis Awareness Month, help us spread the word: persistent digestive symptoms shouldn't be ignored. 💚

The One GI Corporate team and Associates in Gastroenterology (AiG) recently spent their Saturday morning volunteering with Onegenawayofficial as part of OG Serves, helping provide food to families facing food insecurity across the greater Nashville area.

Working alongside fellow volunteers, the team sorted food, stocked grocery carts with fresh produce and pantry staples, and helped load groceries into recipients' vehicles during the drive-through food distribution. Despite the rain and summer heat, they showed up ready to serve with compassion and teamwork.

Thank you to the One GI Corporate and AiG teams for making a meaningful impact and demonstrating the power of coming together to serve others.
