🌟💙 HARD WORKER WEDNESDAY: Meet Jay! 💙🌟

Jay is truly a ray of sunshine at Capable Kids! ☀️ He brings a smile, a positive attitude, and the BEST laugh wherever he goes! One of our favorite things about Jay is how thoughtful he is—he always remembers to ask his therapists how their day is going! 🥹💛

💪 In OT, Jay is working hard to build hand strength and dexterity while increasing his independence with everyday tasks.

🏃 In PT, Jay continues to build strength and confidence while working toward his goal of ditching his walker. He has overcome so many obstacles, and his determination and positive spirit shine through every session!

🗣️ In speech, Jay is always ready to jump into whatever new activity Miss Falan has planned! He’s working hard on word associations, including synonyms and antonyms, as well as following directions using a variety of concepts. He always gives his best effort and brings so much joy to every session!

Jay loves connecting with his therapists and fellow clients, and our whole team looks forward to seeing him walk through our doors. We are SO proud of all the progress he continues to make! Keep shining, Jay! 🌟👏

🌟 TIP TUESDAY: Language Facilitation Techniques! 🗣️💬

Did you know that everyday moments are full of opportunities to build your child’s language skills? 💛 You don’t need fancy toys or extra activities—simple interactions throughout the day can make a BIG difference!

✨ Here are a few easy ways to encourage language at home:
🗨️ Expand: Add words to what your child says. If they say “ball roll,” try “The ball is rolling!”
🎈 Parallel Talk: Describe what your child is doing as they play.
💭 Model: Show your child words and phrases they can use.
❓ Provide Choices: Ask, “Do you want the red car or the blue car?”
📚 Read Together: Pause during familiar stories and let your child fill in the blanks.
🎲 Make Play Fun: Use playtime to create natural opportunities for communication!

Remember, there’s no need to pressure your child to talk. Follow their interests, model language naturally, and celebrate all forms of communication! ❤️

Small moments can lead to BIG communication growth!

Today our therapists wore PINK in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month! 💗 We’re showing our support for everyone affected by breast cancer and celebrating the strength of survivors, fighters, and loved ones.

Together, we wear pink to spread awareness, encourage early detection, and remind everyone that they are not alone! 🩷🌸

🌟 Tip Tuesday: Move More, Scroll Less! 🌟

Did you know that movement helps kids learn, grow, and feel their best? 🏃‍♀️🧠💛

Movement is about so much more than exercise! Climbing, jumping, dancing, pushing, and playing help children build important skills for everyday life, including coordination, body awareness, attention, emotional regulation, and social skills.

💡 Our OT Tip of the Week: Try a “Move Before You Scroll” routine! Before settling down with a screen after school, encourage your child to:
🐾 Go on an animal walk or try an obstacle course
💪 Play a pushing, pulling, or carrying game
🌳 Get outside to climb, jump, or explore
🎶 Dance to a favorite song
🧺 Help with simple household chores

Remember, movement doesn’t have to be complicated! Small opportunities to move throughout the day can make a BIG difference. 💙
