Verb of the week:
give
To give means to freely transfer something to another person, or to provide, yield, or produce something.
Often when we think of giving, we imagine giving a gift. This could be a physical gift like a birthday present, the gift of our time or effort, or even giving positive thoughts and prayers. We give money to charities and others in need. We give away things we aren’t using anymore.
But what else can we give? We can give our energy to a project. We can give love, good vibes. There may be times that we give our all. Maybe even so much so that there’s nothing left for self. This could lead to the temptation to give up.
There will come times when we can no longer resist. When the urge to give in to temptation is just too strong. When we are surrounded by that which we are trying to give up but instead give in. Like accidentally showing up at the donut shop. Or engaging in negative conversation. We know it’s best to stay away from these situations, and this is when our willpower must give a whole hearted effort.
We could consider what it is that we give off. Hopefully, it’s positive energy, hopefulness, and joy. Well, at least most of the time.
One of the greatest things we can give is thanks. A grateful heart leads to deeper satisfaction and happiness. Gratitude is the cure for scarcity and the nemesis of envy. We are thankful for you!
