Offering yoga to the adults with disabilities at A Community Safe Haven has been such a joyful growth and learning opportunity for everyone involved. Our class is fun, unpretentious, light-hearted, accepting, and a truly safe place where these practitioners get to experience yoga as themselves.
I adore that each participant shows up in their unabashed authenticity and finds their individual practice that day. Each cue is an invitation and the practitioners are empowered to opt in, out, or find their own way at every turn.
Is it the pristine, energetically magical, thoughtfully scripted, reverent flow of a typical studio class? Absolutely not.
Is it unpredictable, unpretentious, hilariously chaotic in the best way, and perpetually shifting? You bet.
I wouldn't change a thing.
