I would like to introduce you to Dr. Monique Guraya. Dr. Guraya joined our practice in December, where she kindly covered my maternity leave. We are delighted that she has decided to continue with us on a permanent basis, working two days a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Dr. Guraya earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the College of William & Mary in 2017, followed by her dental degree from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Dentistry in 2021. She further advanced her training through a General Practice Residency at the West Los Angeles VA Hospital in California, where she gained extensive experience in surgical and comprehensive dentistry. Her calm demeanor and gentle, reassuring approach help patients feel comfortable and at ease during their visits.

Please join me in welcoming Dr. Guraya to our team!

On a personal note, I am happy to share that I have returned from maternity leave and am now in the office three days a week, which also allows me to spend time with my newborn son, Ario. He was born on January 7 and is already smiling, showing a big personality, and getting ready to join the team soon!

Thanks to your continued support, our practice is growing! As we’ve expanded over the last few years, I’ve realized the need for additional qualified staff to help me keep the same standard of care you’re accustomed to receiving. After a thorough process of interviewing multiple candidates,
I chose to extend an invite to Ashling Wilson RDH.
Ashling is a registered dental hygienist with over a decade of experience in the dental field. She began her career as a
dental assistant, gaining a wide range of experience working with various specialists. She also served as an office manager and treatment coordinator, which allowed her to become well-versed in navigating dental insurance. Ashling then pursued her Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene
from Germana Community College in 2010 and, in 2023, earned her bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene Science, along with a minor in Human Services and Counseling from Old Dominion University.
Ashling has a passion for keeping up to date with modern technological advancement in dentistry. She will be implementing the use of digital scanning, lasers and local delivery of antibiotics adjuncts in periodontal
treatments and will customize your wellness plan based on your individual needs.
Please help me welcome Ashling on board. I know you’ll enjoy meeting her at your next appointment!

Today, the coolest dude in town came to get his teeth cleaned. Isaac’s parents brought him in when he was one year old. He wasn’t my biggest fan that day, but now at about three years old, he’s comfortable sitting in the big chair by himself, getting his teeth polished and checked. Introducing kids to the dentist early and regularly not only helps in encouraging good oral hygiene habits but also prevents life long dental fear and anxiety.
