💙 Big news for kids, teens and families who need behavioral health care.

Penn State Health Golisano Children’s Hospital has been recognized by U.S. News and World Report as one of the nation’s best hospitals for pediatric and adolescent behavioral health in the 2026-2027 Best Children’s Hospitals rankings.

Our teams care for children, teens and young adults with a wide range of behavioral health needs, including eating disorders, autism, ADHD, anxiety, depression and other complex conditions.

We’re also working to make that care more accessible, with a new 21-bed child and adolescent inpatient mental health unit at Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center and expanded capacity for our partial hospitalization program in Harrisburg.

For the children and families who need this care, expanding access means more opportunities to get the right help, closer to home.

We’re incredibly proud of the teams making that possible every day. 💙

📚 A story can bring a family a little closer — even in the NICU.

Today, Penn State Health Golisano Children’s Hospital is joining NICUs around the world for the Babies With Books Read-a-Thon, an 11-day celebration of reading and connection.

Made possible by our Child Life specialists and donors through Children's Miracle Network Hershey, the Read-a-Thon gives families an opportunity to read aloud to their little ones — supporting brain development, reducing stress and strengthening the bond between babies and their caregivers.

Through Sept. 24, our NICU families and care teams will be picking up books, sharing stories and taking part in a friendly reading challenge.

A special thank-you to everyone who helped fill our NICU library with books last month. Your generosity is helping create these special moments of connection for our families. 💙

Let the reading begin! 📖

Today, we remember and honor.

Twenty-five years after the events of Sept. 11, 2001, we remember the lives lost, the heroes who stepped forward and the families and communities forever changed by that day.

We honor the courage, compassion and resilience that brought people together in the days and years that followed.

We will never forget. ❤️🤍💙

☀️ This summer, Westin got to do what kids do best: make memories.

At 8 years old, Westin Martin spent his summer surrounded by friends and family, enjoying a week at the beach, attending overnight camp for the first time and making the most of his time outside.

And the summer was just one part of an incredible year. In February, Westin spent time on the Penn State THON dance floor, and in the spring, he traveled to Hawaii for his Make-A-Wish trip.

Just a year ago, Four Diamonds child Westin was undergoing treatment for neuroblastoma at Penn State Health Golisano Children’s Hospital.

Today, he’s looking ahead to what’s next — and making the most of every moment along the way.

During Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, we’re celebrating Westin, his journey and all the moments that make childhood so special. 🎗️

💛 A full-circle moment at Penn State Health Golisano Children’s Hospital.

Brady Lucas once walked the halls of our hospital as a patient while battling cancer. Today, he’s a cancer survivor and children’s author — and he recently returned to share his story with current patients.

Brady read his book, Smiley’s Smile, and talked with children throughout the hospital about his own cancer journey and what inspired him to write a book to help kids understand cancer.

During Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month, Brady’s visit is a powerful reminder of the journeys behind every diagnosis — and the hope that can come from seeing someone who has walked the same path. 🎗️

🏈 The Nittany Lions have some new fans in their corner this season.

Earlier this week, Penn State cheerleaders brought some Nittany Lion spirit to Golisano Children’s Hospital, spending time with patients across three floors.

From bingo and learning a cheer to decorating megaphones, they gave our patients plenty of reasons to get in the game. 📣

Now we’ll be cheering them on when they take the field tomorrow! 💙🤍
