Because of the federal shutdown, the U.S. Department of Agriculture has instructed states to issue February’s Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) benefits by Sunday, Jan. 20. Benefits would normally be available to families between the 3rd and 21st of February.

So many people suffer the consequences of the shut down, from single moms who work two jobs to pay for rent to Federal workers who earn Federal Salaries. Everyday, we work with home-bound, aging, and disable adults who cannot work and depend on Federal Programs such as FNS for meals everyday.

Golden Sun Home Care is running a can food drive Jan 20-February 2 with a goal of 500 cans. Please stop by our office or reach out to us if you would like to make donations--we'll swing by and do pick ups!
