Jose Alfredo Valle Medina

Jose Alfredo Valle Medina, devoted husband, loving father, cherished son, brother, entrepreneur, mentor, and friend, passed away on June 7, 2026, at the age of 50.

Born in Mexico on October 13, 1975, Jose grew up surrounded by family, tradition, and resilience that shaped his strong work ethic and deep loyalty to the people he loved. At 14, he moved to Washington State, where he built a new life and lasting connections that remained important to him throughout his life.

In 2002, Jose moved to Iowa, where he met his wife, Eve. Together they built a life centered on love, hard work, and family. They raised their children—Adrian, Desiree, Israel, and Elena—who were his greatest pride and motivation.

In 2022, the family moved to Missouri, where Jose continued building and creating through his work with Alma Warehouse. He was an entrepreneur at heart who believed in opportunity, effort, and providing for those around him. He took pride in working hard and pushing forward, no matter the challenges.

Jose will be remembered most for who he was to others. He showed up for people without hesitation—offering help, guidance, and support whenever it was needed. His humor, energy, and presence could change the atmosphere of any room. He had a gift for turning ordinary moments into lasting memories.

He believed strongly in family, forgiveness, and perseverance. He often reminded those closest to him to let go of pride, stay united, and not waste time on anger. His way of living reflected his belief in moving forward and loving deeply.

Jose is survived by his wife Eve; his children Adrian, Desiree, Israel, and Elena; his mother Elena Medina Soto; his siblings Griselda, Raquel, Augustine, and Fernando; and many extended family members and friends who were impacted by his life.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jose Alfredo Valle Medina, and his brother Antonio.

Jose’s legacy lives on in the people he loved, the lessons he shared, and the strength and laughter he brought into the lives of others.

Dennis Hubert “Denny” Grannemann, age 86 of Higginsville, returned to his Heavenly home on June 12, 2026, at Centerpoint Medical Center after a valiant battle with a long illness. He was supported by family members, friends, and his belief in Jesus as Lord and Savior who gave him his final peace.
Denny was born to Hubert and Erna (Brockhoff) Grannemann on March 17, 1940. He graduated in 1958 from Alma High School. In 1961, he married Joanne Elizabeth Keller at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Alma, MO. Denny attended college at Central Missouri State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 1965 and later in 1968 completed his Master’s Degree in Industrial Arts. In 1966, he taught industrial arts in Holden, MO. In 1968 through 1981, he taught industrial arts and driver’s education for the Lafayette Co. C-1 school district. In 1981, he resigned from C-1 to become a self-employed contractor. He was a very capable journeyman, doing finish work, painting, sheet rock, and finally becoming a licensed electrician.
From an early age, Denny was an avid fisherman. He spent many happy hours on the waters of Truman Lake, near Warsaw, MO. He purchased a little cabin near Truman Lake and dubbed it “Granne’s House”. It was always a happy spot for him as he and Joanne enjoyed the birds and trees. Denny also enjoyed collecting antiques, clocks, tying fishing lures, cooking and deer hunting. He loved driving and the couple enjoyed a yearly vacation, exploring something new.
Denny was preceded in death by his parents; an older brother, Olan Grannemann; two infant daughters, Christine (1970) and Susan (1972); and his wife, Joanne (2017). He is survived by three nieces and a nephew, Donna (Richard) Webb, Lynn (Melvin) Lewis of Bates City, MO, Maxen Mason of White Hall, AR, and Linda (Allen) Bush of Odessa, MO; many great, and great-great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his cousins Ann Porter and Kathy Frieberger.
A graveside service officiated by his nephew-in-law, Melvin Lewis will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 11:00 AM where Denny will be buried beside his wife in the Mission Ridge Cemetery in Urbana, MO. Howard Nelson Fisher, 102, of Higginsville, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at Meyer Care Center. He was born on Sunday, September 2, 1923, in Gilliam, Missouri, to the late Aubrey Fisher and the late Verna (Hannah) Fisher.
He married Evelyn (Fizer) Fisher in 1948, and from this union two children were born. A still born infant daughter, Patricia, in 1950, and another daughter Susan. Evelyn preceded him in death in 1952 due to childbirth complications. He later married Mary (Hoefer) Fisher on November 4, 1955 and from this union one son was born, Zane Fisher. Mary Louise preceded him in death on December 29, 2017.
Howard proudly served in the United States Air Force and was a veteran of World War II. He then served as a Reservist and assisted with ferrying aircraft during the Korean War. Howard began his career with Citizens Telephone Company in 1955 and dedicated nearly four decades to the company before retiring as President in 1993. Even in retirement, he continued serving as the Chairman of the Board until 2020.
He was an active member of Salem United Church of Christ in Higginsville and was deeply involved in his community. Howard was a member of the Lafayette County Gun Club, served as Chairman of the Board at the John Knox Village East, was a longtime member of the Higginsville Rotary Club, was a board member and Past President of the Conservation Federation of Missouri, and was also a board member and Past President of the Higginsville Chamber of Commerce. He served as a board member and was an advocate and supporter of Christian children’s homes throughout the state.
Howard had a love for travel and adventure. He and Mary Louise were members of the Wally Byam Airstream International and traveled the country in their Airstream travel trailer. He especially enjoyed spending time at the Lake of the Ozarks at Standing Rock Campground where he and several close family friends spent many happy summers. A lifelong learner and avid reader, Howard embraced opportunities to grow, explore, and connect with others throughout his life. After retirement, Howard went back to college to continue educating himself and learning.
Surviving are one daughter Susan (Wayne) Smith of Odessa, MO: one son, Zane (Carrie) Fisher of New Orleans, LA; two sisters, Kathryn Ann Hannaford of Cape Girardeau, MO, and Marideen Farrell of Marshall, MO; and three grandchildren, Laura Fisher, Charles Fisher, and Sara Tunnell. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Evelyn Fisher; one infant daughter, Patricia Fisher, and his second wife, Mary Louise Fisher;
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Monday, June 15, 2026, at Salem United Church of Christ, 1500 N. Main St. Higginsville, Missouri. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM with Rev. Andy Mockridge officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the Salem Cemetery, Higginsville. Joyce Ann Burns (Anglen), 67, of Lexington, Missouri, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2026, at Meyer Care Center in Higginsville.
She was born Sunday, September 21, 1958, in Marshall, Missouri, to the late Kenneth Anglen and the late Anna (Bilger) Anglen. She married Herbert Burns on August 9, 1985. He preceded her in death on February 29, 2020.
Joyce devoted her life to nursing. Nursing was more than a profession for Joyce, it was her calling and her passion. She was known for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and dedication to caring for others. Whether caring for her patients, family, or friends, Joyce always put the needs of others before her own. She found joy in life's simple pleasures, especially camping, fishing, and searching for treasures at thrift stores. Above all else, Joyce treasured her family. They were the center of her world and the source of her greatest happiness. Her love, compassion, and unwavering devotion to those she cared for will be remembered always. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Surviving are two sons, Kenny Burns of Higginsville, MO, and Harrison Burns of Lexington, MO; one daughter, Ann Howard of Lexington, MO; two brothers, Bobby (Mary Kay) Anglen of Slater, MO, and Carl (Norma) Anglen of Marshall, MO; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Herbert Burns.

Edward Roger “Eddie” Domuret, 59, of Higginsville, Missouri, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri.
He was born Tuesday, August 9, 1966, in Chicago, Illinois. Eddie later moved to Missouri for work and built a life doing what he knew best, working as an automobile repairman and auto body painter. He was talented with his hands and took pride in his work. Later in life, Eddie worked for McDonalds in Higginsville.
Eddie enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved listening to music, watching his favorite television shows and especially enjoyed history programs. He had an artistic side and liked drawing and creating art. He also enjoyed riding his e-bike and spending time outdoors. During one part of his life, Eddie lived in Alaska, where he developed a deep appreciation for the mountains, wildlife, and beauty of nature. He was someone who enjoyed life in his own way, whether that meant relaxing with a good beer and a cigarette or simply enjoying the things that made him happy. Most of all, Eddie will be remembered for being genuine, independent, and true to himself. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his significant other, April McCabe, of the home. Friends will have a private celebration of life at a later date.

Julie K Martens (Kosmiski), 71 of Higginsville, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Sage Grove in Blue Springs, Missouri. She was born Saturday, October 9, 1954, in Lexington, Missouri, to the late William Kosmiski and the late Joe Ann (Mason) Kosmiski. She was a 1972 graduate of Lafayette County C-1 in Higginsville and later earned a Bachelor’s degree in interior design from CMSU in Warrensburg, Missouri.
On April 27, 1974, she married the love of her life, Juel Martens and together they shared 52 wonderful years of marriage, building a life centered around love, family, and community. Julie began her career working for Montgomery Ward and Hollis & Miller before following her creative passions and opening her own businesses, The Holiday Peddlar and The McCord House. She was a gifted artist, painter, quilter and crafter whose creativity touched countless lives. Julie loved teaching art classes and sharing her talents with others. She enjoyed sharing her artistic eye to local floral shops volunteering during holidays to assist with floral arrangements as well.
In 1987, Julie’s family became the talk of the town when their home was moved from Shelby Street to the very end of Lipper Street; a memory many in the community still remember today. Julie had a deep appreciation for beauty in all forms. She loved quilting, genealogy, history, and she took pride in making her community a more beautiful place by planting flowers, tending plants, and even pulling weeds wherever she saw a need. Her kindness and care for others could be seen in both the large and small things she did every day.
Above all else, Julie loved her family and her community. Her children were the light of her life, and one of her greatest joys was spending Saturday mornings going out for breakfast with Juel while completing the newspaper crossword puzzle together. Julie will be remembered for her gentle spirit, caring heart, creative soul, and the warmth she brought to everyone who knew her.
Surviving are her husband, Juel Martens of the home: three daughters, Kathryn "Kate" (Jordan) Anthony of Overland Park, KS, Sarah (Jason) Welch of Sweet Springs, MO and Molly (Chris) White of Gladstone, MO; six grandchildren, Henry Anthony, Eleanor Anthony, Bailey (Matt Wolfe) Welch, Jackson (Kyndall) Welch, Abigail White, Oliver White; and one great-grandchild, Aspen Wolfe. She was preceded in death by her parents; one half-brother, Vincent Kosmiski; and one half-sister, Ann Kosmiski.

Jane B. Norman passed from this earth into the arms of Jesus on Saturday morning, May 02, 2026, at age 94. Born August 3, 1931, in Minneapolis, MN to Niels and Betty Nielsen, she lived a very full life. Jane attended and graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota where she met and later married Haldo Norman on December 17, 1955.
Jane taught Elementary school in the Minneapolis area before focusing on raising her own family of five daughters. An Evangelist at heart, she lived in many states and visited nations all over the world to share the love of Jesus, when she wasn’t sharing in her own backyard. She baked to bless friends and neighbors for decades, started a Crisis Pregnancy Center in Fairmont, MN, a Jail Ministry and Neighborhood Kids Ministry in Grandview, MO, and her ‘Bench Ministry’ in Custer, SD just to name a few. Her intentional faith changed countless lives.
Known for her festive spirit, we’ll miss her laugh, her brownies, and the way she prayed with passion. Our beloved Mother and “Gram” left a legacy of unconditional love, joy and faith. Jane is survived by her daughters, Betsy (Kim) Baker of Custer, SD; Lisa (Pete) Folch of Orlando, FL; Mikki (Durell) of Lees Summit, MO, Katrina (Troy) Fischenich of Neola, IA; Sarah Norman of Omaha, NE; Twenty grandchildren along with a plethora of great-grandchildren and brother, Dennis (Karen) Nielsen of Chippewa Falls, WI. Stacy Lynn Deckard (Manning), 41, of Higginsville, passed away Monday, May 4, 2026, at her home.
She was born Tuesday, May 29, 1984, in Lexington, Missouri, to Tracy (Shirley) Manning and the late Rose (Bonner) Manning.
Stacy spent many years working as an assistant manager for Sonic Drive-In in Higginsville. Many will remember her as a dedicated and hardworking employee, and her coworkers will deeply feel her loss. Stacy enjoyed spending time outdoors, loved music, and especially enjoyed attending concerts. Above all else, she loved her children with all her heart.
When her youngest daughter, Bella, needed a heart transplant, Stacy made caring for and advocating for her daughters the main focus of her life. She worked tirelessly to ensure Bella received the care she needed, and through Stacy’s strength and devotion, Bella is now in good health.
Stacy had a strong faith in God and relied heavily on prayer throughout her life. She was a beautiful and bold soul, with an honest heart and a joyful, free, and playful spirit that drew many beloved people into her life. She will be deeply and sincerely missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her father, Tracy (Shirley) Manning; three daughters, Lilyauna Manning, Gabriella Manning, and Arabella Deckard; one sister, Christy Manning; and her cousin and constant companion, Jarvis Manning.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Rose Manning.

Dennis Kevin Wozniak, age 79, of Higginsville, MO died on May 3, 2026 at Meyer Care Center, his home for the last 18 years.
He was born on October 4, 1946 to John A. Wozniak, Sr. and Julia Klein Wozniak in Kansas City, MO. Dennis was baptized into the Catholic faith on October 20, 1946 and confirmed on February 23, 1956 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Higginsville, MO. Dennis was a
devout Catholic and a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic School 1st through 8th grade. He is a graduate of the Class of 1965 from Higginsville High School. Dennis worked 40+ years at ActionProducts in Odessa, MO. During this time, he was an Auxiliary Reserve Officer for
several years for the City of Higginsville.
Dennis was an avid racing fan and traveled often to many NASCAR events including several to the Daytona 500. He had season tickets to the Kansas Speedway for many years. Dennis had a love of cars and enjoyed camping and trout fishing at Bennett Springs State Park. He also was a Chiefs football fan and Royals baseball fan and enjoyed listening to country music including Johnny Cash,
Elvis Presley and Merle Haggard. Dennis is remembered for his enjoyment of a simple life and unending generosity. While living at Meyer Care Center, numerous caretakers considered Dennis “their buddy”.
Dennis is survived by his double first cousin and primary care advocate Marie Wozniak Dittmer (Mark) and their children Joshua Dittmer, Jonathan Dittmer (Laura), James Dittmer (Jessica) and Jacob Dittmer and their families. Dennis attended every birthday party and holiday with Marie and Mark’s four sons over
the years and Dennis was known for his special gift giving. Also surviving are 10 first cousins.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, brothers John Wozniak Jr. and Phillip Wozniak and sister Charla Wozniak and 2 first cousins.
Visitation will be on Monday, May 11, 2026 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Higginsville, MO. Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Justin Hoye officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Higginsville, MO.
