YOUR SAFETY STARTS WITH WHAT YOU NOTICE.

Situational awareness is a skill you can practice every day.

Before entering a store, restaurant, or public building:
• Identify the nearest exits.
• Notice where employees and security personnel are located.
• Pay attention to unusual behavior, not appearances.
• Keep your phone from becoming a constant distraction.

You don't need to live in fear to be prepared. A few seconds of observation can help you make better decisions when circumstances change.

A SAFE KNIGHT, INC. offers practical situational awareness training for individuals and organizations.

How is your situational awareness?

10/08/2026

A visitor collapses during worship. What would you do first?

An adult visitor falls to the floor and appears unresponsive. The area is safe. You’re the closest person.

Which response would you choose?

* A: Move the visitor to a quieter room.
* B: Check responsiveness and breathing while directing someone to call 911 and bring the AED.
* C: Wait for someone with medical training to step forward.

🎥 Watch the video. Choose your answer before the explanation.

💬 Comment A, B, or C and tell us why.

Then ask your church team:

* Who calls 911?
* Where is the AED, and who retrieves it?
* Who meets EMS and guides them to the visitor?

Practice these roles before your church needs them.

Situational awareness is the first piece of armor you put on. Most people walk into a room looking at their phone. A Safe Knight walks in already knowing the exits, the crowd, and the one thing that does not belong.

SITUATIONAL AWARENESS IS NOT PARANOIA. IT IS PREPARATION.

Before you sit down today, run a 10-second scan:
• Where are the exits?
• Who is already here, and who just walked in?
• What is the fastest way out if something changes?
• Where would you move your people?
You do not need a badge to do this. You need a habit.

The person who notices the anomaly early is the person who buys everyone else time. Seconds decide outcomes. Awareness is how you get those seconds back.

Train the scan until it is automatic. At the coffee shop. At church. At the school pickup line. At work.

A true knight does not wait for the battle to begin.

Comment SCAN if you want the 30-second situational awareness drill we use in training. Share this with the person responsible for your school, church, or workplace.
