We accept NC Medicaid, Tailored plans, BCBS and private pay. Express Communication Therapy provides speech language pathology services to children from 0 to 10 years of age in the Piedmont area of North Carolina. We primarily specialize in bilingualism (bilingual certification (TSSLD)), articulation therapy, apraxia and language delay with children that are proficient in English and Spanish. Expr

Using play to build language skills 💬✨

During today’s session, we practiced answering questions and using complete sentences to talk about personal experiences. While playing, we encouraged language such as:

🗣️ “I picked the bear.”
🗣️ “The spinner landed on number 2.”
🗣️ “I touched the soft one.”
🗣️ “I want another turn.”
🗣️ “I am playing with the game.”
🗣️ “It feels squishy.”
🗣️ “I like this one.”

Activities like this help children improve:
✨ expressive language
✨ answering WH-questions
✨ describing actions
✨ turn-taking
✨ vocabulary and sentence building

We’re officially up and running in our new space—and it’s already filled with smiles, laughter, and so much joy 💛

Seeing the kids explore, play, and feel comfortable in their new environment reminds us exactly why we do what we do. This office was created with them in mind, and watching them enjoy it means everything.

Bittersweet moment as we wrap up our final week of speech therapy at Forest Hills Presbyterian Church. 💛
