Ranked #5 out of the Top 90 Female Life Coach Podcasts in the world. šŸŽ™

Not sharing this for the applause. Sharing it because of what it tells me about YOU.

High-achieving women are done with surface-level content. You want the real stuff — why anxiety hides behind productivity, why confidence isn’t a personality trait, why the women who look the most ā€œtogetherā€ are often the ones holding the most.

That’s what the Badass Confidence Coach podcast delivers. Every week.

4.8 rating ⭐ Top 5 globally ⭐ Built for women who lead.

Everyone is talking about burnout right now.

Quiet quitting. Protecting your peace. Setting boundaries.

And honestly — I’m glad we’re finally talking about it.

But here’s what I think the conversation keeps missing:

You cannot boundary your way out of a dysregulated nervous system.

I know this because I tried.

Twenty years of triathlon training taught me something important:
You can have the perfect race plan and still completely fall apart at mile 20 if your nervous system was never trained for stress, exhaustion, and recovery.

Same thing in life.

You can leave the job.
Set the limit.
Say no to the committee.
Turn your phone off at 8pm.

And still lie awake at 2am replaying conversations.
Still feel emotionally fried.
Still snap at your kids.
Still carry that low hum of anxiety that never fully shuts off.

Because boundaries matter.
But boundaries are the roof — not the foundation.

The foundation is regulation.

If your nervous system only knows survival mode…
you’ll recreate stress even inside a calmer life.

That’s why so many high-functioning women look successful on the outside and exhausted underneath it all.

Nobody taught them how to actually feel safe slowing down.

That’s the work.

Not just changing your schedule.
Changing your internal state.

Everyone is talking about the nervous system right now.
And I’m glad.

I’ve been doing this work for 26 years. For most of that time it lived in therapy offices and clinical textbooks.

The fact that it’s in the mainstream conversation now matters.
But here’s something honest: Reading about nervous system regulation and actually training your nervous system are completely different things.
I know this because I’ve done both — and I’ve confused them more than once.
I have the clinical training. I understand the science.

But I’ve also stood at a triathlon start line at 5am with 140 miles ahead of me and felt my nervous system try to talk me out of every single one of them.
And I’ve had seasons of my own life — divorce, rebuilding, starting over — where all the theory in the world didn’t stop the 2am spiral.

What got me through wasn’t understanding my nervous system.
It was training it. Repeatedly.
In conditions that were uncomfortable and humbling.

That’s what I bring into this work.

Not just the science. The reps.

Follow me if you want to know what that actually looks like.

The biggest lie high-achieving women tell themselves:
ā€˜If I just get everything under control I’ll finally feel okay.’

I’ve heard this thousands of times in 26 years.
And here’s what 20 years of triathlon confirmed:
The finish line doesn’t fix it.

I’ve crossed finish lines completely broken and completely euphoric.

Neither feeling lasted.

Because the peace you’re looking for isn’t at the end of the to-do list.

It’s not in the promotion.
It’s not when the kids are older or the inbox is empty.
You’re not anxious because your life is out of control.

You’re anxious because you never learned you’re allowed to feel safe without everything being perfect first.

That’s not a scheduling problem.

That’s a nervous system that never got the message that the threat is over.

And unlike your to-do list — that’s actually fixable.

Save this if it resonates.

I was standing at the start of a triathlon. It’s 6 am.

Wetsuit on. Swim cap on. Goggles figured out. Heart hammering.

I am about to swim 1.2 miles before biking 56 mikes and running a half marathon.

I thought: I might actually die out there.

I didn’t. Obviously.

But I’ve also stood on a stand-up comedy stages.

Let me tell you…triathlon is easier.

At least in a race nobody is actively waiting for you to fail.

But both taught me the same thing:
Courage isn’t the absence of fear. It’s deciding something matters more than fear.

See, your nervous system doesn’t know the difference between a starting gun and a punchline that bombs. It just knows threat.

Training it — on a race course, on a stage, or in your own life — is the same process.

Feel it. Name it. Move anyway.

That’s not a motivational poster. That’s neuroscience.

If you want more of this, follow me.

You look like you have it together. You probably do have it together. And somehow, that’s exactly the problem.
Join Anna and Tim as they get into something Anna sees constantly in her sessions but rarely gets talked about out loud: the quiet, invisible loneliness that lives underneath high-functioning, capable people. The ones who are holding everything together at work and at home, who everyone leans on, and who nobody thinks to check in on. Because from the outside, they always seem fine.

This Episode Covers:

Why competent people stop sharing their struggles and slowly disappear inside their own lives.
The difference between being surrounded by people and actually being known by them.
How false connections, texting, and parasocial relationships are replacing real ones without us noticing.
Why midlife adults are among the most affected by loneliness, even with full lives and full calendars.
The ā€œtrap of competenceā€ and how performing achievement replaces emotional expression.
How to share something real without oversharing, including the name it, contain it, redirect it framework.
Why loneliness isn’t just emotional, it’s neurological, and how it connects to anxiety, depression, and burnout.

Until next time, here’s to deeper connections and personal growth.

Mad love!

I’m opening a small private group for ten women in leadership and I want to tell you exactly what’s inside.

Six weeks of live group coaching with me — I’m an LCSW and high-performance coach with 26 years in practice.

One private one-on-one session with me before we start — so I know exactly what you’re walking in with.

A private community so you’re not doing this alone.

And a simple workbook with tools you can use the same day.

Who is this for?

You keep it together on the outside.
You’re exhausted on the inside.
You’ve tried to fix this on your own and it hasn’t worked.

The investment is six thousand dollars.

This is not a therapy group.
It’s not a wellness retreat.
It’s six weeks of precise, clinical, action-oriented work.

If you want the details — send me a DM with the word READY.

26 years ago I became a therapist because I understood something most people don’t talk about.

The most put-together person in the room is often the one most in need of help.

She’s not going to ask for it.
She doesn’t know how.
Asking for help feels like weakness — and weakness feels like danger.

I’ve spent 26 years sitting across from that woman.

The VP.
The educator.
The breadwinner.
The one holding everything together for everyone else.

Every single time — the work is the same.

Stop performing.
Start feeling.
Learn what your nervous system has been trying to tell you.

I’m Anna.
I’m an LCSW, high-performance coach, mom of five, and endurance athlete.

I host the Badass Confidence Coach podcast — top 1.5% globally.

And I will tell you the truth about why you’re exhausted — and exactly what to do about it.

Follow me if that’s what you need to hear.
