It’s easy to get caught up in rewriting the past or stressing about the future. But the truth is, the only moment you can actually create movement, shift your mindset, or find your flow is now. 🧠✨

Somatic work is so powerful because it anchors you directly in the present. By tuning into your body’s signals and the beat of the moment, you can shift your nervous system from stress to calm activation. 🌿

Stop waiting for the "right time" to start. Every breath is a fresh opportunity to connect, regulate, and thrive. You can start changing everything, starting right now.

A 10-Second Check-In for You:
Take a deep inhale through your nose, unroll your shoulders, and let out a long, slow exhale. You are exactly where you need to be. ✨🫂

Stay Present! The transformation is waiting for you there.

July is Minority Mental Health Awareness Month. 🤍

When we talk about mental health, we cannot separate the mind from the body. For BIPOC and marginalized communities, the weight of systemic racism, microaggressions, and generational trauma isn’t just a mental burden—it is physically carried in the nervous system.

Chronic stress lives in our tissues, our posture, and our breath. It keeps the body in a constant state of hypervigilance (fight-or-flight), leading to physical exhaustion, chronic pain, and emotional burnout.

True healing requires a safe space to process both the mental and the physical impact of these lived experiences. This month, and every month, we advocate for culturally attuned, trauma-informed care that honors the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. ✨

To anyone carrying a heavy load right now: your feelings are valid, your boundaries are necessary, and your rest is radical.

Take a deep breath with us today. You are not alone. 🫂🌱

The old-school approach to sports tells you to ignore your body, grit your teeth, and "push through." But true, sustainable excellence doesn't happen by overriding your system—it happens by partnering with it. 🧠✨

At abunDANCE Somatic Center, we bridge the gap between traditional sport psychology and body-based somatic practices. We don't just train the mind; we map and regulate the nervous system so you can access your true flow state, prevent burnout, and break through performance plateaus.

Whether you are an elite athlete, a performer, or a coach looking to elevate your team’s approach, it’s time to move beyond "mind over matter."

Let's build resilience from the body up. 🏔️💪

Athletic excellence shouldn’t come at the cost of an athlete’s well-being. 👋

We just dropped Part 1 of our latest blog series: A Trauma-Informed Approach to Sports and Working with Athletes. We're shifting the focus from rigid compliance to somatic empowerment—exploring how the body stores stress and how nervous system mapping can unlock true, sustainable flow states for performers. 🌊🧠

Many of us have heard the old athletic mantra: Leave your problems at the locker room door or something similar. For decades, traditional sports culture has demanded that performers push through pain, bury their emotions, and rely on sheer "mind over matter" to win. This approach has cost

Whether you’re stepping onto the field, the court, or just facing a high-pressure week, mental toughness isn’t something you’re born with—it’s a muscle you build. 💪✨

Save this checklist for the next time you need to reset, refocus, and lock in your mindset.

🧠 The Checklist Breakdown:
1️⃣ Master Your "Self-Talk": Trade "I can't" for action-oriented cues. Focus on what you can do right now.
2️⃣ Control the "Controllables": Don't waste energy on the weather, the refs, or external noise. Focus 100% on your own effort and attitude.
3️⃣ Develop a "Next-Play" Mentality: Dust off mistakes instantly. Create a physical trigger (like taking a deep breath) to reset.
4️⃣ Embrace the Discomfort: Growth lives right outside your comfort zone. Lean into the challenge.
5️⃣ Use Strategic Visualization: Mentally rehearse how you'll handle high-stress scenarios before they happen.

Which one of these do you need to work on the most today? 👇 Let us know below!

Behind every high-performer is a mental game plan. This is mine, and how I build yours. 🧠🚴‍♀️

If we haven't met yet, hello! I’m the founder behind AbunDANCE Somatic Center, and the image you see here captures a massive piece of who I am—both as an athlete and a consultant.

I don't just study peak performance from the sidelines. My work is fueled by a lifetime of pushing my own physical and mental limits. Growing up, my world revolved around the grace and discipline of dancing and ice skating, alongside a passion for swimming and trying every sport I could get my hands on. Today, you can find me fueling my competitive drive out on the road, racing in triathlons and cycling events. 🏁🏊‍♀️

But my true calling is taking that raw, lived athletic experience and combining it with deep psychological strategy.

With a doctorate in sport and performance psychology, I specialize in helping athletes, dancers, artists, and high-achievers worldwide untangle the hidden anxiety, mental blocks, and stress response loops that keep them from their potential. My consulting services are offered internationally, bringing trauma-informed, mind-body strategies straight to you, wherever you are in the world. 🌍✨

I absolutely love working with people. There is nothing more rewarding than partnering with a client to help them rebuild their nervous system safety, ground their energy, and tap into an unshakeable state of flow. 🌊🕊️

Athletic conditioning doesn't stop at the neck. Protecting your brain is the ultimate long-game strategy. 🧠💥

When we think about athletic injuries, our minds usually jump to torn ACLs, strained hamstrings, or rolled ankles. We spend thousands of hours conditioning our muscles and joints, but how much intentional care do we pour into protecting our most valuable organ—the brain?

In our latest blog post, Protecting Your Brain as an Athlete, we dive into the vital intersection of sports neurology, brain safety, and somatic recovery. 🌪️⚓

Whether you play contact sports or engage in high-impact movement, your brain absorbs physical and metabolic stress every single day. From managing the realities of concussions and sub-concussive impacts to navigating the intense cognitive load of elite performance, brain health is athletic performance.

But true protection isn't just about wearing the right helmet. From a somatic perspective, a healthy brain requires a regulated nervous system. When the brain experiences physical or emotional trauma, it alters how the body moves, reacts, and protects itself. In this new piece, we explore:
✨ The hidden signs of neurological fatigue and brain burnout in athletes.
✨ Why somatic tracking and nervous system regulation are crucial for concussion recovery.
✨ Practical, body-centered strategies to support neuroplasticity, cognitive longevity, and spatial awareness.

Your brain coordinates every step, every breath, and every split-second decision you make on the field, court, or stage. It’s time to give it the protective care it deserves. 🕊️🌿

Our brains are essential to our daily lives! That might be one of the most obvious statements. Still, it’s worth saying because we can occasionally take our brains for granted. We can see this in athletics sometimes, so it is essential that we make the brain the center of our conversation at times...
