☀️ GOOD MORNING! I NEED YOUR FEEDBACK!
We are considering bringing in our next guest speaker, and this one will be a little different from our usual services.
This message will be geared toward teens ages 13+ and their parents/guardians, and I’ll be upfront the topics are tough. Because of the nature of the discussion, each teen will be required to attend with a parent or guardian.
HOW DO WE PROTECT OUR TEENS?
Our guest speaker will approach this conversation from real-world experience. These aren’t just topics she has researched but they are issues she encounters through the work she does every day.
We’ll have honest, age-appropriate conversations about:
• Social media & online safety
• S*xting and sharing explicit images
• Gaming & communicating with strangers online
• Va**ng
• S*x trafficking & grooming
• Online bullying
• And other situations today’s teens may encounter
But this isn’t meant to simply scare our kids or tell them “don’t do that.”
The goal is to give parents AND teens practical knowledge on how these situations happen, what warning signs look like, how quickly an innocent interaction can become something more serious, and most importantly, how to have the hard conversations before our children find themselves facing these situations alone.
Our kids have access to an entire world right at their fingertips every single day. We cannot protect them from everything they may see, hear, or encounter.
But we CAN prepare them.
This topic is incredibly near and dear to my heart.
Sheltering them from the conversation? Nope. That doesn’t work.
I’d rather equip our teens with KNOWLEDGE, awareness, confidence, and a safe adult they know they can come to. ❤️
Before we move forward, I need to gauge interest and determine what works best for families.
👉 Would you attend with your teen (13+) if we offered this?
👉 Would a weeknight around 6:30 PM work for you?
