Football is back in Philly! It’s the season of marathon tailgates, t**h push re-enactments and standing and singing “Fly, Eagles, Fly” at the top of your lungs.

As the official physical therapy partner of the Philadelphia Eagles Eagles, we’re here to help you do all of that without pain.

Social media influencer Natalie Caez knew something was off, but she had no idea her symptoms were actually signs of something much more serious.

After all, a little stiffness, numbness and tingling in her legs could have been from being an avid runner. Did that also explain the blurry vision, urinary issues, fatigue and weakness? Finally, a friend mentioned that Natalie’s walking pattern seemed off. It was time to figure out what was happening. Many months and doctor appointments later, an MRI revealed lesions on Natalie’s brain and spinal cord. It was Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

Natalie didn’t waste a moment. A week after her diagnosis, she jumped right into physical therapy with Physical Therapist Cassandra "Cass" Borglum. Working on things like strength, balance, endurance and movement strategies, Natalie’s progress seemed subtle at first.

“I think that’s one of the most amazing things about physical therapy: progress can be very quiet,” Natalie said. “It takes time, and you have to be patient with yourself, but then one day you realize, ‘wow, look at what I can do now that I couldn’t before.’”

From using a cane to get around to walking the runway for a fundraiser fashion show, Natalie’s progress has been impressive. And while she knows MS can be unpredictable, Natalie says she’s committed to living fully, being patient with herself and sharing her story to help others through their MS journeys, including the power of physical therapy.

A morning walk. A first step after surgery. A return to the field. Moving through life without pain.

Physical therapy is more than just exercise. It’s about helping people get back to the moments that matter. Thank you to our physical therapists and physical therapist assistants for helping people move forward on World Physical Therapy Day and every day.

The rotator cuff is a group of four muscles and tendons that help stabilize and move your shoulder. Whether you're lifting groceries, reaching into a cabinet, playing pickleball or working in the yard, the rotator cuff is constantly at work. Maintaining good posture, staying active, and improving shoulder and upper back strength can help reduce stress on the shoulder.

If shoulder pain is limiting your activities, keeping you from sleeping comfortably or not improving after a few weeks, schedule a physical therapy evaluation: https://bit.ly/46FJsF6

Back-to-school season is upon us. Whether you’ve already survived the first week or so, or are about to dive in, it can feel chaotic for many families. But it doesn’t have to.

Take this advice from our board-certified behavior analysts to make things a little easier.

1. No one likes abrupt changes. Gradually adjust routines like wake-up times, bedtimes and daily expectations and then make it consistent and predictable.

2. Practice makes perfect. Rehearse things like walking to school or the bus stop, using lunch boxes, wearing backpacks and unlocking combination locks for lockers. It’s these little details that often get forgotten.

3. Prepare for big feelings. Don’t try to remove the anxiety, sadness or frustration. Instead, listen to your child and validate their feelings of concern or worry.

4. Plan time to reconnect during a busy week, like a family game night, movie night or nightly walks as a family. This communication opens the door for trust and to identify concerns before they become bigger challenges.

5. Read our latest blog to learn more strategies from pediatric specialists to help your child transition back to school, like how to set screen time boundaries, when to incorporate extracurricular activities and the extra support that may help children with special needs. Link in comments.

Before the stunning walkoff win that had Philadelphia Phillies fans celebrating Friday night, there was another reason to cheer at the ballpark.

Leaders from NovaCare Rehabilitation presented a $10,000 check to Phillies Charities, Inc. We’re proud to give back to the community by contributing to an organization that supports hundreds of nonprofits throughout the Philadelphia area.

As the preferred physical therapy provider of the Phillies, we’re honored to be part of a partnership that extends beyond baseball and helps strengthen the communities we serve. We’re grateful for the opportunity to give back and support causes that make a lasting impact.
