On your 4th or 5th pillow this year and still waking up stiff?

A pillow supports your neck while you sleep, but it can’t fix spinal mobility problems. If your spine is stuck, you’ll wake up tight and sore no matter what you’re sleeping on.

Before you buy another pillow, it might be worth finding out if the actual problem is in your spine, not the setup.

You know how you don’t realize how much your neighbor’s dog barking was driving you insane until it finally stops?

That’s what’s happening inside your body when areas of your spine aren’t moving how they should. Your nervous system keeps responding to the same “stuck” signal - background noise it can’t ignore.

Every adjustment is turning that noise down. Better spinal movement means better input to your nervous system, which means it can stop babysitting that signal and get back to doing everything else it’s supposed to do.

You’ll feel the difference, but what’s happening underneath matters even more.

We’re here when you’re ready. Link in bio to get scheduled.

Spent this weekend in Carlsbad, CA learning from the best, and none of it had anything to do with chiropractic technique.

Instead, the focus was on personal development, leadership, business, building better systems, and creating an even better experience for our people.

Always trying to improve - for myself, for my team, and for every person who trusts us with their care.

Thank you The Wealthy Practitioner for the incredible weekend!

If I had to pick one starting point for almost any spine issue, it’s this.

Cat-cow, linked to your breathing. Inhale as you arch, exhale as you round - 10 to 15 slow cycles. Not fast, not forced. The whole point is connecting movement to breath, which is what makes it work as well as it does.

Doesn’t matter if it’s your neck, your low back, or sciatica down your leg - this is where we start. Give it a few rounds and notice how much smoother it feels by the end.

You’ve been stretching your hip flexors religiously for weeks - couch stretch, lunge variations, the whole routine - but every morning you wake up and they’re tight again.

Here’s what’s happening: when your lumbar spine or SI joints aren’t moving the way they should, your hip flexors shorten up as a protective response. They’re not the problem - they’re protecting one.

Stretching gives temporary relief because you’re addressing the symptom but not what’s causing it. The problem in the spine, pelvis and sacrum stays, so the tightness keeps coming back.

When we take care of the low back, your hip flexors don’t have to guard anymore.

If you’ve been stuck in the stretch-tight-repeat cycle, this is your sign to get it checked out.

I get adjusted every week. It’s non-negotiable for me.

People assume it’s because of the physical side - and yes, adjusting patients all day with training on top of that... my body does take a beating. But really, that’s only part of it.

Running a business, staying on top of patient care, and managing everything that comes with it - that’s its own kind of beast. When your nervous system is constantly in go-mode, your body pays for it whether you notice it or not. Tension builds. Sleep gets lighter. Recovery slows down. You just feel like you can’t quite get ahead of it.

My weekly adjustment is my reset. It’s where I actually let my nervous system downshift and where I make sure everything is moving the way it should before the next week of patients, training, and whatever else life throws at me. I’m not waiting until something hurts - by then you’re already playing catch-up.

This is what I tell my patients and it’s exactly how I live. Link in bio if you’re ready to stop waiting for a reason to get in 😉

Sharp pain around your ribs when you take a deep breath? Pain when you twist, sneeze, or roll over in bed at night? Your primary ran a full workup, and everything looked fine.

Here’s what’s probably going on and what we see all the time in the office: every rib in your body attaches to your thoracic spine in the back. When those joints get restricted or irritated, the pain doesn’t always stay there - it travels around the rib cage.

People assume it’s a pulled muscle. Some go down the Google rabbit hole and convince themselves something is wrong with their heart or lungs. Meanwhile, it’s just a restricted joint in the mid back that needs to be addressed.

Adjustments to the thoracic spine - and sometimes the rib itself - clear this up faster than people expect.

If your headaches keep coming back, there’s a good chance your neck is involved.

The nerves that come out of your upper neck run into the back of your head, and when your spine isn’t moving the way it should, the muscles up tighten up and the nerves become irritated. That combination of muscle and nerve irritation is what refers into the base of your skull, behind your eyes, and even into your temples.

It shows up after long days at a desk, time staring at your phone, or sleeping in a weird position. You take something for it, it calms down - then it comes back again.

That’s not a hydration problem. That’s your spine telling you it needs some help.

If your neck has been tight, your posture has been creeping forward, or you’re starting to notice a little hump forming at the base of your neck - this one’s for you.

Cervical retraction is one of the best things you can do if you spend a lot of time at a computer or behind the wheel. It helps reset your head position, takes pressure off your upper neck and traps, and directly addresses that forward head posture that builds up over time.

Fair warning: you’re going to look absolutely ridiculous doing this. You start the exercise by giving yourself the most unflattering double chin possible. Do it in a coffee shop and let me know how it goes 😉 worth it though.
