Mr. Vinlove passed away with no known surviving family members. We invite you to help us honor this veteran by attending his memorial service at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, IL.

At the request of Camp Butler National Cemetery, the date of his service has been changed and the new date will be forthcoming, as they have invited Mr. Vinlove to be included in a very special service. We have respectfully agreed to this change. As soon as this service is scheduled, we will share the information with you. Thank you for your understanding as we strive to honor Mr. Vinlove.

Gene R. Vinlove, 88, served in the United States Navy from 1957 to 1961, as an electronics technician attached to the USS Belle Grove, a ship which engaged in Operation Hardtack I, a 35-detonation series of nuclear tests held at Eniwetok, Bikini, and Johnston Island. Gene will be remembered for his kind heart, warm smile, and friendly spirit. He was known for greeting everyone with kindness and making people feel welcome.
