We have been notified that several other cemeteries in the Portland and Vancouver area had thefts of bronze vases as well. We do not know the names of those cemeteries, but this implies a much more organized theft potentially.

We now have a copy of the police report regarding the stolen vases. We are submitting that to our insurance company. The vases have not turned up yet but there is still hope. We just want to be prepared in case they are not located. We will update you again as things progress. Thanks so much for your patience and support.

We have notified many families who are affected by the vase theft, but we have a lot of cases where we do not have current contact information. Also, many times we only have contact information for one family member. We have been able to spend time walking the whole cemetery and now have a list of families affected. We will start making calls to those families today so that they are aware that their loved one's grave is affected. It may take us a few days to get through these calls. We are working with the police and our insurance company to figure out how to move forward with resolving this terrible crime. We will make updates on our page as we know more.

Someone stole about 80 bronze vases from grave sites at Fir Lawn Cemetery, and we're hoping someone knows something that can help.

Staff reported the theft on July 20. The vases were taken from graves at 1070 W Main Street. Each one stands about 10 inches tall and weighs around 10 pounds.

These belong to families who come to visit and remember people they've lost. Taking them from a cemetery is a hard thing to understand, and we'd really like to get them back where they belong.
