Rick was admitted to Hillsboro Health and Rehab following a fall that resulted in decreased use of his left shoulder, impaired balance, and difficulty with mobility. During his inpatient rehabilitation stay, the physical and occupational therapy teams collaborated to develop an individualized treatment plan focused on improving his strength, balance, and functional mobility within his home environment.
After successfully discharging home, Rick continued his recovery through outpatient physical therapy. His treatment program emphasized restoring left shoulder strength and function, building lower extremity strength, and improving dynamic standing balance to safely navigate his community. Each therapy session was tailored to challenge him appropriately while supporting his personal goal of returning to archery.
Through his hard work and dedication, Rick made remarkable progress. Upon discharge from outpatient therapy, he had regained confidence in his community ambulation, improved his overall balance and strength, and successfully returned to one of his favorite hobbies—archery. Rick's recovery is a testament to the benefits of comprehensive rehabilitation and his commitment to achieving his goals.💚
