Allen C Edwards

Allen C. Edwards, 78, of Deering, passed peacefully at home surrounded by the love of his family on Friday, July 3, 2026.

He was born July 20, 1947, in Henniker to the late George H Edwards and Florence M. (Murdough). He was educated locally at Hillsboro-Deering High School, class of 1965.

Allen spent many years as a mechanic at Wyman's in Hillsboro before later working as a truck driver for Henniker Crushed Stone. He also spent many years as a school bus driver. Beyond his career, he was proud to serve his community as a member of the Deering Fire Department.

Allen loved to spend time outdoors tinkering and doing yardwork. He was also an avid snowmobiler and was in the Night Rider Snow Mobile Club. He also enjoyed competing in garden tractor pulling. Those who knew Allen could often find him enjoying a leisurely drive through town, usually with a stop at the corner store for breakfast. What meant the most to Allen was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Allen is survived by his son, Curtis Edwards, his daughter-in-law, Brenda, his grandchildren, Emma and Grady Edwards. He is predeceased by his wife, Patricia Ann Edwards, his sisters, Virginia Wing and Elsie White; his brothers, Eugene, Orville, Wayne, George, Robert, Chellis Edwards, and Leon Farrar

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 11:00am in Butler Cemetery in Deering.

Doris E Glendinning

Doris Evelyn Glendinning, 95, of Hillsboro, passed peacefully, surrounded by her family on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at Concord Hospital.

She was born on February 24, 1931, in Peabody, MA to the late Perley D Lovelace and Phyllis (Mason). She attended Framingham State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree.

Doris married John H. Glendinning Jr. in a simple ceremony surrounded by her loving family and friends. They shared many wonderful years of marriage before his passing in 1995.

Family was at the heart of everything she did. As a devoted homemaker, loving grandmother, and cherished great-grandmother, she found her greatest joy in caring for those she loved and creating lasting memories together. She was the proud owner of D&J Outlet in Somerville, Massachusetts, where she enjoyed serving her community. She was an active member of the Daughters of American Revolution (DAR), the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War Auxiliary (SUVCW). In her free time, she found happiness in cross-stitching, reading, working on word search puzzles, and researching her family's genealogy, a passion that allowed her to preserve the history of those who came before her. She will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family, generous spirit, and the warmth she shared with everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Doris is survived by her loving sons, Scott and his wife, Judy, and Peter and his wife, Angie. She also leaves behind her grandson and 3 great-grandchildren.

She leaves behind a loving family and friends who will forever hold her memory close She is predeceased by her beloved husband John as well as her parents Perley and Phyllis.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at 11:00am at the Hillsboro Methodist Church, 16 Henniker St, Hillsboro, NH. Burial will take place immediately follow church at Harvey Memorial Cemetery, Shedd Rd, Hillsboro, NH. A collation to follow at the Masonic Temple, 16 Gay Ave, Hillsboro, NH.

William "Bill" Steven Kulbacki

Educator, devoted Catholic, lifelong learner, loving family man

William "Bill" Steven Kulbacki of Pensacola, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026. Born in Hillsborough, New Hampshire, in 1932, he was the ninth of ten children born to Leopold "Bill" Kulbacki and Agnes (Rumak) Kulbacki. Bill graduated from Hillsborough High School in 1949 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of New Hampshire in 1955, where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity.

After college, Bill worked for the Sanborn Map Company creating fire insurance maps throughout New England and New York. Wanting to be closer to family, he began a lifelong career in education, teaching science at Antrim High School before spending 32 years at Hopkinton High School. He also taught geology at New England College and Hawthorne College.

Bill continued his education throughout his career, receiving a National Science Foundation scholarship to study at Earlham, Dartmouth, and Shenandoah Colleges. He earned a Master of Science in Education from Keene State College and a Master of Science in Botany from Washington State University.

He faithfully served his community on the Deering Select Board and Conservation Commission and as president of the St. Mary's Catholic Church council, extraordinary minister, and confirmation teacher. After retiring, Bill moved to Pensacola, Florida, where he remained active at the Basilica of St. Michael as an extraordinary minister and Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He also volunteered at the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store, where he was affectionately known as the "fix-it guy."

Bill was a gentle man, an avid reader, a lifelong learner, and a true polymath. Even into his nineties he could enthusiastically discuss geology, biology, botany, the geography of New England and New York, and the many family trips he enjoyed throughout the United States. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and friend.

Bill is survived by his wife, Frances (Daigle) Kulbacki, of Pensacola. He was predeceased by his siblings Dorothy, Lydia, Fred, Etta, Evelynn, Ted, Michael, his twin sister Thalia, and Kathy; his first wife, Alice (Griffen) Kulbacki; and their daughters Carol and Nancy.

He is survived by their sons Peter and his wife Babben (West) Kulbacki of Enfield, New Hampshire; Jess Kulbacki and Thomas Kulbacki of Hillsborough, New Hampshire; Fran's daughters Jennifer of Pensacola and Julie Duncan of St. Louis, Missouri, along with her children Blake and Trevor; his grandchildren Amanda and her husband Edward Dunbar, Alec Kulbacki, Todd and his wife Gabby Gordon, Brittney Kulbacki Hall and her son Chase, Spencer and his wife Cheryl Kulbacki, Braeden Kulbacki, Tryder Kulbacki, and numerous nieces and nephews.

We will remember Bill for his deep love of Christ, his unwavering devotion to family, his wonderful storytelling, and the wisdom gained through 93 years of remarkable joys and profound sorrows. Ninety-three years simply was not enough time with one of the world's truly good people. Edward Shampney Sr

Edward Shampney Sr., 81, of Warner, New Hampshire, passed away on June 30, 2026. Born June 5, 1945, to William and Mary Shampney, Ed was the youngest of six boys. From the age of seven and his brother Harry were lovingly raised by their adopted parents Lou and Shryl Robertson, who became central figures in his life.

A long-term resident of Warner, Ed dedicated more than forty years to the town highway department as a skilled equipment operator and was a lifetime member of the Warner Fish and Game Club enjoying the kids fishing derby with his family. His home-affectionately known as "The Hill"-was the heart of his world. It was there he built a life with the love of his life, his wife Chicky (Marlene), and raised their four boys.

Ed was predeceased by his parents William and Mary; Lou and Shryl Robertson; his wife Chicky; his son Randy Sr.; and his brothers Harry, Fred, Joe, Bill, John.

He is survived by his sons: Edward (Eddie) Jr., Roger (and wife Bonnie), and Michael. He leaves behind grandchildren Andrew, Randy Jr., Steven, Kristina, Michelle, and Jay along with nephews, nieces, cousins, and countless friends who were part of the community he created.

Ed was known for creating a place where anyone could show up exactly as they were. Generous at heart, he helped anyone in need-yet he carried an equally stubborn streak, where no meant no and traditions were honored without exception. He loved a house full of friends on Friday and Saturday nights, urging them to stay for "another beer" because you can't fly on one wing. His stories of younger days and wild adventures were legendary, and when asked what he was up to, his answer was always the same: "just dubbin."

Ed had a sweet tooth for homemade whoopie pies and apple crisp-always insisting on his own batch so he'd have plenty to enjoy. He found joy in gardening, sharing the harvest with friends and family throughout the season.

Ed is deeply missed. His legacy-rooted in generosity, community, humor, and steadfast love-will live on in all who knew him.

A graveside service will be held at New Waterloo Cemetery in Warner, NH on Wednesday, July 8th at 10:00 a.m.

Ruth Leslie White

Ruth "Nicci" L. White, a longtime resident of Hopkinton, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 27, at Granite Ledges in Concord, NH with her children by her side. She was 94. Ruth is survived by her four children: Robert White and his wife Maureen of Hopkinton, Carrie Peterson and her husband Gregg of Webster, David White and his partner Sarah Bohannan of Hopkinton, and Judith Currier and her husband Devan of Randolph Center, Vermont. She also leaves nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister Sylvia Myers Willoughby and by her husband of 50 years, Stanley White.

Ruth was born in Bennington, Vermont, in July 1931. Her New Hampshire roots ran deep: her father, Col. Charles Hayward, was from Temple, NH, and her mother, Gladys Clough Hayward, was from Contoocook, NH. As the daughter of an Army colonel, Ruth attended schools in seven U.S. states and in Japan, where her father was posted after World War II.

She graduated from Boston University in 1953 with a degree in physical therapy and soon married her high school sweetheart, Stan, at Sargent College Chapel in Boston. After Stan's naval service, they raised their four children in Hopkinton, where they operated Duston Country Club for twenty years. Ruth practiced physical therapy for many years, including positions at Havenwood and the VNA, and later worked with Stan as a real estate agent. Widowed in 2003, she also enjoyed many years of companionship with her close friend David "Duffy" Dodge of St. Johnsbury, Vermont.

Known affectionately as "Ruthie," she was celebrated for her generous spirit as a mother, Nannie, friend, neighbor, and volunteer. Ruth was active in the Women's Fellowship of the First Congregational Church of Hopkinton, the Hopkinton Women's Club, the Hopkinton Historical Society, and the Hopkinton Marching Band. She helped found the volunteer-based Hopkinton Hospice, served as a district coordinator for the Contoocook Valley Pony Club, and directed the Cherub Choir for many years. Throughout her children's school years she contributed to countless school events and fundraisers.

Family and friends will fondly remember her midnight molasses cookies, ice cream desserts, warm holiday gatherings, matchmaking efforts, commemorative poems, and steadfast love for her family. Ruth was also an accomplished oil painter, creating portraits, floral works, and murals that adorn her beloved cottage on Jo Sylvia Lake. She enjoyed buying and selling antiques with close friends Sally, Ginny, Marge, and Shirley.

Ruth will be buried next to her husband, Stan, at Hopkinton Village Cemetery. A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 14, at the First Congregational Church of Hopkinton, followed by a reception at St. Methodias on Clement Pond.

The family extends their gratitude to the caregivers at Sunapee Cove, Granite Ledges, and Granite VNA Hospice for their dedicated care. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ruth's memory may be made to the First Congregational Church of Hopkinton (firstchurchhopkinton.org), the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org), or Granite VNA (granitevna.org).

Ronald C. Taylor

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald C. Taylor, affectionately known to many as "Mr. Terrible," of Henniker, New Hampshire. Ron passed away peacefully on June 28, 2026, at the age of 87, surrounded by his loving family.

Ron will be remembered for his playful sense of humor, generous spirit, and unwavering willingness to help others. Whether he was building something, fixing a problem, offering financial assistance, or simply sharing one of his unforgettable stories, Ron always found a way to brighten the lives of those around him. He had a remarkable gift for storytelling and seemed to have the perfect story for every occasion and every person he met.

Ron was born on January 10, 1939, in Hot Springs, Virginia. He graduated from Shelton High School in Shelton, Connecticut, in 1957, where he worked as a Caddy Master before proudly serving in the United States Air Force from 1958 to 1962. Following his military service, he married the love of his life, Martha Chase, in 1962. Together they shared 63 wonderful years of marriage and raised three beloved children.

Throughout his life, Ron called Virginia, Connecticut, and New Hampshire home. His career reflected his strong work ethic, entrepreneurial spirit, and lifelong commitment to learning. While living in Connecticut, he worked for National Semiconductor Corporation and Sperry Semiconductor Corporation and earned a degree in Electrical Engineering. After relocating to Henniker in 1970, Ron and Martha built a successful life together as business owners, operating several ventures over the years, including a gas station, rental cottages, Henniker Glassworks, storage units, and mobile home parks. During this time, Ron also earned a Business degree from New England College.

Ron believed deeply in giving back to his community. In April 2026, he was honored by the Town of Henniker in recognition of 50 years of dedicated public service. During those five decades, he served in numerous leadership roles, including the School Board, Zoning Board, Board of Selectmen, and many other town committees and organizations. His dedication, integrity, and thoughtful leadership left a lasting impact on the community he loved.

Outside of his professional and civic life, Ron enjoyed many passions. He was an avid strategic board gamer with an extensive collection of games and was a devoted member and treasurer of the Le Marshalate Strategic Board Gaming Club for more than 30 years. He also traveled throughout the country to attend national board gaming conventions. Ron was an active member of the Congregational Church of Henniker, where he volunteered at the New Life Thrift Shop. He also served as Treasurer of the Henniker Historical Society.

Ron is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Martha Chase Taylor; his children, Wayne Taylor and his wife, Jill, Diane Taylor and her husband, Peter, and Sharon Buetow and her husband, Bernard. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Chase Taylor, Chelsea Taylor, Alec Buetow, Erin Taylor, Devin Buetow, and Nathan Taylor, as well as his bonus grandchildren, Caitlin McNamara, Sean McNamara, and Conor McNamara.

He was predeceased by his father, George Taylor; his mother, Glenna Hite Christian; and his brother, Donald Taylor.

A funeral service celebrating Ron's life will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Congregational Church of Henniker. A reception will immediately follow in the church Parish Hall. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend and celebrate Ron's life.

Daniel G Hingston

Daniel G. Hingston, antiques dealer, auctioneer, and appraiser, passed away on May 2, 2026 in Naples, Florida at the age of 85.

Dan was born on May 13, 1940, in Peabody, Massachusetts. He was the son of Richard T. Hingston and Edna E. Castle. He is survived by his wife Barbara Joyce Edge Hingston, his son Michael Hingston, and his daughter and son-in-law Tara and KC Cederholm.

Dan found a part time job in an antiques shop when he was 13 years old. He was fond of saying it was the luckiest day in his life, because it was his introduction to the antiques business. The shop was owned by an important New England antiques dealer named Max Weber. He worked for Weber until he was 19, and remained friends with him and has sons for the rest of their lives.

Dan and Joyce met as teenagers at a1950’s drive-in diner near Newfound Lake in central New Hampshire. They were married when they were just 20 years old. Dan worked at various jobs as he tried to get into the antiques business. For a time, he even drove a meat truck. After he made his deliveries, he filled the empty truck with antique furniture he purchased along the route home.

Dan got his big break when he got a job with Richard Withington, a well-known estate auctioneer in the old town center of Hillsborough, New Hampshire. Eventually, Dan became the manager, treasurer, and appraiser for Withington Auction, Inc.

This was at a time when American furniture was beginning to peak in popularity and value. But it was also long before on-line bidding, and the many great pieces Dan was finding in old houses at that time were still being auctioned under a tent in Dick’s back yard. Major dealers and collectors from all over New England and beyond would drive to Hillsborough and stand under that tent to bid on those pieces. It was a cultural phenomenon that landed both Dick and Dan in an article in Time Magazine about one of the last of the country auctioneers.

He enjoyed working in Hillsborough’s historic town center, close to home and his young family. When Tara and Michael were growing up, they wandered in and out of Withington’s house where Dan worked like it was their own, and played in the barns where the furniture was stored. He was extremely proud that they both ended up in the antiques field.

Dan worked with Dick for over 30 years, until he retired from the auction business in 2000. He then opened Daniel G. Hingston Antiques, doing estate appraisals for many New Hampshire and Massachusetts law firms. He continued working until 2023. His business is now carried on by his son, Michael.

Dan and Joyce became avid tennis players, traveled often, and spent winters in Naples, Florida. But his favorite place was still Hillsborough, where he and Joyce lived for over 60 years.

Dan will be remembered for his quick wit, and his great stories. But most of all, he’ll be remembered for his kindness. He was never too busy to stop and chat, to ask about people their family, or offer a helping hand. He was a good friend to many in the antiques business, and a good friend to many in Hillsborough.

He was also a loving husband, father, and father-law. He’ll be greatly miss by all of us, and by the many people who’s lives he touched. May he rest in peace in the cemetery up the road road from the home and the old town center he loved.

A memorial service will be held Saturday July 11, 2026, at 2 pm at the Congregational Church, 614 Center Road, Hillsborough Center, NH. A reception will follow at the Hillsborough Center Club.

Richard Mueller

Richard ('Dick') James Aloysius Mueller, age 78 of Warner, NH, passed away on June 16, 2026 after battling the deteriorating effects of acute pulmonary fibrosis.

Dick was born on July 19, 1947 to Richard and Aleatha (Ames) Mueller in Oak Park, IL. He studied for the Glenmary Home Missioners at the Servite Minor Seminary in Hillside, IL, for 4 years and after graduating, went on to St. Meinrad's in southern Indiana, for 1 year before meeting his beloved wife, Linda, on a summer mission trip to St. Paul, Virginia. Dick went on to major in German literature at De Paul University before their marriage in 1968.

After graduation, he worked for the First National Bank of Chicago and then as a bookkeeper for R.R. Donnelly and Sons. Dick enlisted in the Air Force In 1970 in Manhattan (getting ahead of the Draft). In the Air Force, the Muellers lived (among many other appointments) in Texas, Kansas, Thailand, New York, Germany, California, Colorado, Florida, Washington D.C., and Virginia. During his career, Dick earned an MA in National Security Affairs (Naval Postgraduate School), and an MS in International Relations (Troy State University) before retiring from the Air Force as a Lt. Colonel. In 2001, Linda and Dick moved to Warner, NH, where Dick embarked on a second career as a high school teacher at Bishop Brady High School, where he was fondly known as 'The Colonel.'

Dick was a passionate Catholic and loved to help out in whatever was needed at the various parishes to which they belonged, leading Cursillos and Marriage Encounter talks with Linda, as well as Catechism and RCIA instruction, playing in the various church folk groups and choirs on military bases and local parishes where they served, and serving as lector and parish librarian, among other tasks. He was a linguist and, after German and the ancient languages, learned Vietnamese, Arabic, French, Thai, and others. He read voraciously, and later in life could be found reading about the benefits of homesteading and canning. In these last years, Dick was the full-time caregiver for Linda.

Dick was predeceased by his beloved wife, Linda, both parents and his sister-in-law, Linda Mallon. He is survived by his five children: Kerrie (Ted) Diers, Richard (Ceridwen), Margaret (aka, Sr. Mary Amata, OP), Karl (Stephanie), and Andrew, and ten grandchildren: Nathaniel, Ella, Leo, Marc, Caleb, Sonja, Gus, Toby, Linus, and Rosemary, as well as his 11 siblings: Laurel (Raymond) Wanat, Patricia (Jarl) Nischan, Paul (Sage) Mueller, Mary (Jay) Donovan, John Mueller, M (Georgie) Mueller, Therese (Michael) Capels, Judith (Jay) Ruhling, Janet (Ric) Forero, Cathy (Ken) Beyer, Jim (Cathy) Mueller.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Theresa's Church in Henniker on July 1 at 10:30am, preceded by an hour of Visitation in the church. Dick will be buried at 2pm that day in the Boscawen Veterans Cemetery in NH. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to your favorite charity.

Anne Marie Gould

Anne Marie Gould, 73, of Henniker, passed peacefully in her home surrounded by the love of her family on Sunday, June 14, 2026.

Born on September 19, 1952, in Somerville, Massachusetts, to the late John J. Ryan Jr. and Agnes L. (Murphy), Anne lived a life marked by kindness, strength, and devotion. She was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth touched so many lives.

On June 17, 1973, Anne exchanged vows with the love of her life Scot (Edward) Gould. They were married for 53 years.

Anne worked as the Supervisor of the Checklist for the Town of Henniker for over 40 years. She was also the Manager of Campus Communications at New England College for more than 30 years.

Anne found joy in the simple blessing of life, especially spending time with her family and friends. She loved attending and cheering at sporting events for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed many adventures, with cruises holding a special place in her heart. Anne was also an avid collector of nutcrackers, proudly growing her collection to nearly 180 over the years. She will be remembered by the countless memories she created, lessons she taught, and the unconditional love that she gave. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Anne is survived by her loving husband, Scot Gould, their children, Scott Gould of Henniker, Terri Gould of Manchester, and Ryan Gould of Henniker. She is also survived by her brother, Donald Ryan, her grandchildren, Jonathan, Aaron, Tamrah, Taelyn and Abbi, and a great-grandchild Malcolm. She is predeceased by her grandson Trenton Jon, her sisters Rosalie Swanfeldt, Louise DeVincentis, Ellen Ogren, Sylvia Pinkham, and her brothers, Henry McAllister, and Jim Ryan.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026 from 4:00-7:00pm at Holt-Woodbury Funeral Home, 32 School St. Hillsboro. A funeral mass will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at St Theresa Catholic Church 158 Old W Hopkinton Rd Henniker. A burial will be held at a later time in the New Hampshire Veteran Cemetery with her beloved husband.
