Joseph A. Russo was 18 years old when one experience changed the direction of his life.

After his grandfather passed away, Joe watched the funeral director care for his family and saw the difference one person could make during a time of loss.

That experience stayed with him. It was then that Joe began to see funeral service not simply as a profession, but as a way to help families when they need it most.

Years later, that calling would lead to Russo’s Hillside Chapels.

Since opening its doors in 2012, Russo’s has continued to reflect the values at the heart of Joe’s story: family, service and care.

Russo’s Hillside Chapels is looking for a compassionate, detail-oriented Funeral Director / Embalmer to join our growing, family-owned, team in Hillside, IL. Rooted in old-world values and traditions; while providing modern-day services, we are proud to support families with care, respect, and personalized attention during life’s most difficult moments.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
 Meeting with families and coordinating funeral services
 Preparing and filing all necessary documentation
 Performing embalming and restorative work
 Overseeing visitations, services, and burials
 Coordinating with clergy, cemeteries, and vendors
 Doing removals
 Scheduled nights and weekends being on call

Qualifications:
 Current Illinois Funeral Director / Embalmer license (required)
 Valid driver’s License (required)
 1–2 years of experience preferred
 Effective communication and organizational skills
 Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism

What We Offer:
 Competitive compensation
 Full health and dental insurance
 Flexible scheduling, including every other weekend off (3-day weekend)
