Community Support Update: Lanai, Kau, and Kauai
Hawaii communities continue to come together following the impact of Storm Lowell.

Lanai is currently facing a significant fuel concern due to damage to Kaumalapau Harbor, the island’s only licensed harbor for fuel deliveries. Food and essential household shipments are becoming more manageable, but the fuel situation remains an important concern.

At the same time, communities in the Kau area of the Big Island and on Kauai may have greater needs for food, clothing, cleaning supplies, and other essential items.

We are asking our community to help by:

Sharing verified information
Supporting confirmed community needs
Connecting available resources with families and communities who need them
Staying tuned for additional ways to help
Every act of support matters. When one part of Hawaii is facing a difficult time, we can come together as one community.

Made To Move Pediatric Physical Therapy is looking for Social Media Volunteers to help share educational content, highlight community outreach efforts, and support family-centered pediatric physical therapy across Hawaiʻi Island.

This is a great opportunity for students, aspiring marketers, communications majors, and anyone looking to gain hands-on experience while contributing to a meaningful mission.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to:

Water safety, movement confidence, and inclusive community opportunities all matter for our keiki.

We’re excited to share this upcoming Sensory-Friendly Adapted Swim & Safety Family Fun Day hosted by the Hawaiʻi County Department of Parks and Recreation on May 30th at NAS Pool in Hilo.

This event includes:
• Sensory-friendly swim activities
• Water safety education
• CPR learning opportunities
• Family-friendly support and recreation

Events like this help create more accessible spaces for children and families across Hawaiʻi Island while encouraging safe participation in movement and community activities.
