I’m honored to have attended the annual Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards conference in St. Louis, where I served as the voting delegate for the state of Hawaiʻi for the annual business meetings of both the FCLB and the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners. In addition, I had the opportunity to meet up with Klairice Schwartz, a student attendee, and together represent National University of Health Sciences!

The FCLB conference educates state boards participants and encourages discussion of important regulatory issues. The work and programs provided by the FCLB help to uphold the profession's examining regulatory standards and ultimately promote protection for the consumer public.

It’s been my honor to return the National University of Health Sciences’ Illinois campus and spend the last 5 days as a teaching assistant for a seminar on neurostructural integration technique. We had a great group of doctors learning the method and were able to have a lot of fun while sharing this impactful work! It was an honor to once again be invited out to the beautiful campus of the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners in Greeley, CO to participate in board exam development.

This time, our committee was writing questions for the new format of the Part IV examination. This hands-on exam requires examinees to demonstrate physical examination techniques, treatment methods, and clinical reasoning skills that they must select in a case-based setting just like in real practice. By bringing together content experts and regulators for development and assessment committees, the NBCE works hard to ensure that the test is standardized and fair, while candidates are being held to the highest standards.
