Filler ≠ bigger lips. 💉

When people hear “dermal filler,” lips are usually one of the first things that come to mind—but filler can play a much broader role in an individualized aesthetic treatment plan.

Depending on the product, treatment area, anatomy, and your goals, filler may be used to restore or add volume, enhance contour, support facial structure, or create greater balance between features.

And this is where “How many syringes do I need?” gets a little complicated. 👀

A syringe is simply an amount of product—not a treatment plan.

Two people can receive the same amount of filler and have completely different treatment plans because their anatomy, starting point, product selection, placement, and desired outcome are different.

Even the filler itself matters. Different products have different characteristics, which is why product selection should be intentional—not just based on a familiar name or what someone else received.

The goal isn’t simply more filler.

It’s the right product, in the right place, in the right amount, for the right patient.

You’ve seen us talk about Daxxify—but what actually makes it different? 👀

Daxxify is a neuromodulator used to temporarily reduce targeted muscle activity associated with expression lines.

One of its distinguishing features is its formulation: Daxxify uses a peptide-powered stabilizing technology rather than human serum albumin.

And yes—we need to talk about the units. 💉

Daxxify units are specific to Daxxify and cannot be directly compared to the units of other neuromodulators. So seeing “100 units of Daxxify” does not mean the same thing as seeing “100 units” of another tox.

In clinical studies for glabellar lines, Daxxify demonstrated a median duration of approximately 6 months, although individual results and treatment intervals vary.

As many of you may not know, Nikyla serves as IMI’s Head of Administration & Management, overseeing clinic operations, team development, systems, projects, and the countless moving pieces that keep both our Hilo and Kona locations running smoothly.

But lately, she’s added yet another role to her ever-growing list. 👀

With our Lead Esthetician, Nevaeh, welcoming a beautiful baby girl and enjoying some well-deserved maternity leave, Nikyla has stepped back into the treatment room while continuing to manage her day-to-day responsibilities behind the scenes.

Administrator. Manager. Esthetician. Content creator. Problem solver. Professional hat wearer. 🤍

At IMI, teamwork means stepping in wherever you’re needed, and no two days ever look quite the same.
