Wilma Sloan Jones

Wilma Sloan Jones, 86, of Weber City, VA, went to live with Jesus on October 13, 2026 following months of declining health.

She was born April 24, 1940 to the late Preacher Mitchell and Alice (Rhoton) Sloan. Wilma was saved as a young child; she had a strong faith in Jesus and enjoyed reading His Word. As a teenager, Wilma was named both Miss Rye Cove and class Valdictorian. After being skipped two grades and graduating early, Wilma married the love of her life, Frank Jones, at sixteen years old. She then welcomed son Terry at twenty years old. Although a homebody, Wilma enjoyed “going to town” with granddaughter Megan or her sister Opal and always kept an eye out for a “good deal.” Prior to her own declining health, Wilma’s life was marked by service to her family; she earnestly poured her life into caring for her aging parents, her sister Opal, and then her husband Frank to the best of her ability. Wilma spent her later years sincerely praying for her family and reading the Bible, while also enjoying phone calls with great-grandson Clay.
