More than 100 Liberty Regional Medical Center team members participated in our Wild West of Healthcare: Where Every Skill Helps Tame the Unexpected, three-day Skills Fair.

Throughout the event, clinical staff rotated through 11 interactive learning stations focused on patient safety, medication administration, trauma care, wound care, blood administration, infection prevention, sepsis, catheter care, emergency equipment, and other essential clinical competencies.

Designed to reinforce clinical knowledge, validate annual competencies, and provide hands-on training, the Skills Fair helps ensure our team remains confident, prepared, and equipped to provide the highest level of care.

These monthly meetings bring local organizations together to share upcoming events, collaborate on community initiatives and strengthen connections across Liberty County. Meet our Director of Quality & Education! Please join us in congratulating Christyn West, BSN, RN, on her new role as Director of Quality and Education at Liberty Regional Medical Center!

Many of our patients and team members already know Christyn from her time serving in our Emergency Department, where she spent the last three years providing exceptional care and helping mentor fellow nurses.

In her new role, Christyn will lead our Quality and Education initiatives with a passion for patient safety, clinical excellence, and professional development. As an instructor for BLS, ACLS, and PALS, she is committed to building an educational program our entire team can be proud of while ensuring the highest quality care for every patient who walks through our doors.

Meet Your Freedom From Smoking® Facilitator! 🚭 We're proud to introduce Andy Van Epps, RRT ACCS, RRT NPS, AE C, who recently earned his Freedom From Smoking® Facilitator Certification.

With years of experience serving our community, including as a paramedic with Liberty EMS, and advanced credentials in respiratory therapy, critical care, neonatal and pediatric care, and asthma education, Andy is passionate about helping others breathe easier and live healthier lives.

As the facilitator for Liberty Regional Medical Center's upcoming Freedom From Smoking® program, Andy will provide the guidance, education, encouragement, and practical tools participants need to quit smoking for good.
