🚨 Big news — our CPR in Youth Sports Study has officially launched! 🚨

We’re on a mission to make every player, coach, and family member prepared to act when it matters most. Using AHA CPR Anytime Kits, we’ll be teaching hands-only CPR through a multiplier model — meaning every person trained can go on to train others. The impact grows far beyond a single session. 💪

Why it matters:
❤️ Sudden cardiac arrest is the #1 cause of death in young athletes.

We had a wonderful CPR class this week in partnership with Rice University’s . Adaptive skating provides wonderful recreational and competitive opportunities for skaters with physical and intellectual disabilities. We are happy to help keep their students as they are a population predisposed to congenital and acquired heart disease. As always, we provide the best instructor-to-student ratio in the game!

At NYSAP we love celebrating our milestones! Today marks our first entirely medical student-led BLS CPR training day. Thank you so much to Sugarland Ice and Sports Center for allowing us to train your coaches. We learned a lot and are excited to continue to build relationships with youth sports programs in Houston!

Prayers up to Bronny James, son of NBA star Lebron James, who has been discharged home from Cedars-Sinai after collapsing during a USC workout. He had suffered a sudden cardiac arrest and was successfully treated thanks to the swift response from the Trojans medical staff. Fortunately, he arrived to the hospital alert and neurologically in tact. This marks the second cardiac arrest in a year within the USC men’s basketball program — the first happening to Vince Iwuchuckwu during an informal practice last July. This yet again reinforces the value of having a staff trained to respond to cardiac emergencies and highlights the need for equipping all youth sports programs with AEDs and trained coaches.
