Dr Jacobson will spend a great deal of time educating you about your condition. We strongly believe that it is important for you to be comfortable with the decisions that are being made about your health. Dr Jacobson is particularly skilled at managing allergic rhinitis, food allergy, acute and chronic sinus infections, hives, asthma, chronic cough, and conditions that "masquerade" as asthma such as vocal cord dysfunction. We also specialize in evaluating patients for primary immune deficiency. We perform allergy testing, including skin and/or blood tests for environmental allergies, food allergy, and stinging insect hypersensitivity. We test for asthma with spirometry. We also perform patch testing for contact dermatitis.

False narratives can quickly take hold online, highlighting the importance of trusted, evidence-based information.
A new JACI: In Practice study reviewed 347 high-traffic social media posts and found that misleading allergy and immunology content spreads widely across major platforms. Common themes included claims about natural “cures,” promotion of IgG testing for food allergies, and fear-based messaging about medications.
Researchers also found that public response often reinforced these claims. Among the top 3,470 comments analyzed, 62% supported or remained neutral toward misinformation rather than challenging it.
Findings like these underscore the need for organizations like FARE to continue delivering clear, science-based information that helps protect patients and families living with allergic diseases.

This articulates several of the reasons why I have continued to stay independent for over 25 years. By doing so I am able to continue to place the needs of my patients above all else.

Hospital ownership increases costs, weakens physician autonomy, reduces innovation, and ultimately does not deliver better care.

Hospital ownership of physician practices often leads to higher costs and less autonomy. Learn why independent practice models may offer better care.

So, you bought a real Christmas tree but are afraid allergies will act up while indoors? We have an idea to try… a Christmas Tree Spa Treatment!

Give the tree a long outdoor shower to rinse away pollen and mold before dressing it up with ornaments and lights! Soak each branch and the trunk and then give the tree a shake and let it drip dry. This tip might help decrease the amount of pollen in the tree but it might not work completely for everyone.

You can use this tip to help reduce those traditional seasonal indoor allergies or it is safer to always buy a fake Christmas Tree for zero pollen worries! Stay safe and healthy this holiday season!

Xolair, which has already been FDA approved for over 20 years, and is used for both asthma and chronic hives, now offers an important new treatment option to help manage serious food allergies.

FDA approves Xolair for food allergies. The anti-IgE shot can treat multiple food allergies and can keep reactions from becoming anaphylaxis.

This is an excellent article that discusses many of the points I have been discussing with patients, friends and family since Paxlovid became available.

Fewer than 1 in 6 high-risk people with covid are prescribed the antiviral Paxlovid.

"It prevents your smell that attracts mosquitoes and brings more mosquitoes in, and then, it also releases our repellent very slowly.
According to Bohbot, typical topical repellents - meaning ones that are applied to the skin - work by preventing mosquitoes from biting the individual. This repellent acts by preventing the mosquito from approaching an individual in the first place."

Scientists in Israel have developed a new kind of 'chemical camouflage' that could more effectively keep pesky mosquito bites at bay.

"The switch in strategy—from two variants to one, from original SARS-CoV-2 plus Omicron to XBB.1 alone—would be momentous but wise, experts told me, reflecting the world’s updated understanding of the virus’s evolution and the immune system’s quirks. “It just makes a lot of sense,”

This year’s might include XBB.1 and … perhaps no other strain.
