🦷 Uncle Corey’s Tooth Powder: Built Different 🦷

Everybody talks about whitening.

I’m more interested in helping my teeth stay strong.

That’s why I make my own remineralizing tooth powder with simple ingredients like bentonite clay, calcium carbonate, xylitol, sea salt, cinnamon, cloves, baking soda, and activated charcoal.

No artificial colors.

No bubblegum-flavored science experiments.

Well folks… we’re moving!

This place has been home to a lot of memories, campfires, laughter, new friendships, and probably a few questionable Bigfoot sightings. We are incredibly grateful for every person who has stopped by, supported us, shared a meal, bought a product, or simply spent time with us.

While our location is changing, our friendships and connections aren’t going anywhere.

We’ll continue to keep everyone updated on where we’re headed, what we’re doing next, and how to stay in touch. We are excited about this next chapter and can’t wait to share it with all of you.

🦟🌲 HOW I MAKE MY OKIE BUG AWAY 🌲🦟

I don’t believe in gatekeeping.

If I learn something useful, I’d rather share it than keep it hidden behind a fancy label and a sales pitch.

A lot of folks have asked what goes into my bug spray, so here it is.

🌿 My OKIE BUG AWAY Blend

Base Ingredients

* Distilled Water
* Witch Hazel
* Jojoba Oil
* Castor Oil

Essential Oils

* Cedarwood Oil (45 drops)
* Lemongrass Oil (30 drops)
* Eucalyptus Oil (30 drops)
* Lavender Oil (30 drops)
* Peppermint Oil (30 drops)
* Spearmint Oil (30 drops)
* Sandalwood Oil (30 drops)

🧪 How I Make It

1. Add distilled water and witch hazel to a spray bottle.
2. Add jojoba oil and castor oil.
3. Add all essential oils.
4. Shake well.
5. Spray on exposed skin and clothing.
6. Shake before every use.

🌿 Why These Ingredients?

🌲 Cedarwood – fleas, ticks, chiggers, gnats, mosquitoes.

🍋 Lemongrass – mosquitoes hate it and it smells fresh.

🌿 Eucalyptus – helps with mosquitoes, ticks, and no-see-ums.

💜 Lavender – calming to skin while helping repel insects.

🌱 Peppermint – biting insects aren’t fans.

🌿 Spearmint – fresh scent and additional bug-fighting power.

🪵 Sandalwood – earthy scent and extra support against fleas and chiggers.

💧 Witch Hazel – helps everything blend and apply evenly.

🌰 Jojoba Oil – helps nourish skin.

🌿 Castor Oil – helps the spray stay on your skin longer.

I don’t care if you buy mine or make your own.

I just want people to have healthier options than soaking themselves in chemicals every time they step outside.

If you’d rather make it yourself, that’s awesome.

Well…

This week I managed to turn a whole lot of beef fat into a whole lot of skin care. 🤣

Some folks relax by watching TV.

I relax by rendering tallow, mixing ingredients, pouring soap, testing recipes, and making my kitchen look like a mad scientist and a pioneer homesteader teamed up on a project.

A little tallow fact while we’re here:

Tallow doesn’t hydrate your skin.

Your body already does that.

Tallow helps hold in the moisture your skin already has and supports your skin’s natural barrier.

Think of tallow like that fun uncle who shows up with good advice and a toolbox.

Doesn’t clog the place up.

Spent the day turning my Pumpkin Spice Latte whipped tallow into soap… because apparently I’ve reached the age where rendering beef fat, grinding coffee, and getting excited about cinnamon counts as a good time.

And honestly?
No regrets.

This started as one of my whipped tallows:
• beef tallow
• jojoba
• vanilla bean
• coffee
• pumpkin
• cinnamon
• star anise

Then I turned it into a rich, creamy fall soap bar that smells like:
“A coffee shop and a campfire had a baby.”

Not overly sweet.
Not fake candle-store pumpkin.
Just warm, rustic, clean, coffee-shop fall vibes.

Made with real ingredients.
No detergent bricks pretending to be soap.
No mystery sludge.
No “mountain breeze thunderstorm waterfall explosion” fragrance names.

Just old-school soap made by a tired Oklahoma Sasquatch with too much caffeine and access to a stick blender.

This bar:
