Ardent Counseling Center Announces Partnership with the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services to Expand Mental Health Services for Youth in Care Across Northern Illinois and the Chicago Region
HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL — June 2026 — Ardent Counseling Center is proud to announce a partnership with the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), effective July 1, 2026, to expand access to behavioral health services for youth involved in the Illinois child welfare system throughout Northern Illinois and the greater Chicago metropolitan region.
Through this partnership, Ardent Counseling Center will provide outpatient mental health services to children, adolescents, and young adults receiving services through DCFS. The collaboration is designed to improve access to timely, trauma informed care and support the emotional well being of youth who have experienced abuse, neglect, family disruption, or other significant life challenges.
As a DCFS provider partner, Ardent Counseling Center will offer comprehensive behavioral health services, including individual therapy, family therapy, crisis support, and psychiatric services when clinically appropriate. Services will be available through both in person and telehealth appointments to help ensure accessibility for youth and families across the region.
“Children and adolescents involved in the child welfare system often face complex emotional and behavioral health challenges,” said Stephen Baynes, Chief Executive Officer of Ardent Counseling Center. “We are honored to partner with the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services in support of its mission to protect children, strengthen families, and promote positive outcomes for youth. As a behavioral health provider serving communities across Illinois, we are committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care that helps young people heal, build resilience, and achieve long term success.”
This partnership reflects a shared commitment to ensuring that youth in care have access to high quality behavioral health services that address trauma, strengthen coping skills, improve family relationships, and support long term stability and success.
Beginning July 1, 2026, Ardent Counseling Center will accept referrals for eligible DCFS involved youth throughout Northern Illinois and the Chicago region. Services will be delivered by licensed clinicians experienced in working with children, adolescents, foster families, biological families, and child welfare professionals.
