You did it! Great news! At the very last minute Congress decided to push back the complex power wheelchair accessory reduction bill thanks to the overwhelming response of users! They still went through with the complex manual wheelchair accessory reduction but hopefully they will reconsider. While this is great news indeed, it doesn't fully do away with the reduction but rather delays the reduction for a year. Let's continue to fight for access!

The Complex Rehab accessory bill did not make it on to the bill that passed Congress. This means that access to complex rehab wheelchairs and power wheelchairs will be severely affected starting January 1, 2016 for beneficiaries with Medicare. The bill is designed to ensure that our government does not lump complex rehab products into the same competitive bid reduction as other basic durable medical equipment. The bill would add $0 to the budget and was still not passed. However, the program to fund Syrian refugees did not pass which will add an estimated $55 billion over the next 10 years to the budget! Please contact your congress man/woman to let them know that our disabled citizens need access to complex rehab products more than we need to take in others at this time. Please call and ask them to support HR 3229 and S 2196. Your voice matters! Don't let them take away your right to access equipment that is life changing!
