Today is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.

This day brings attention to an issue that too often remains hidden. Elder abuse—including financial exploitation, scams, neglect, and emotional mistreatment—can affect older adults in every community. Awareness is one of the most important steps toward prevention.

At Senior Resources, we help older adults stay safe and informed every day. Through our Safe Haven program, we support individuals who may be experiencing abuse or vulnerability. Our SHIP (State Health Insurance Assistance Program) counselors also help people navigate Medicare and recognize fraud and scams.

We’re proud to be part of the SafeSeniors of West Michigan Collaborative, working year-round to educate, advocate, and protect older adults in Muskegon, Ottawa, and Oceana counties.
