Of-fish-shells say the meeting between the mayor of Altoona and Al Tuna went reel well. I had a fintastic time creating this 3D piece for the ArtsAltoona chalk walk in Railroad City. Rohto “cooling” eye drops have never been a product I recommend, but I know many use them. If you have any, throw them away!

The FDA classified the action as Class II, meaning the products may cause temporary effects but are unlikely to result in serious harm

Pennsylvania is currently in the “red zone” in terms of Lyme disease. Ocular effects can include:

-conjunctivitis (red, watery eyes with light sensitivity
-blurred vision
-inflammation of the internal eye in severe cases

Protect yourself and see a medical professional immediately if you suspect a tick bite!

We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Gretta Brown to Michelle Barnes Optometry!

Dr. Gretta Brown graduated summa cm laude from Saint Francis University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She is a 2018 graduate of the Accelerated Scholars Program at Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University. Dr. Brown is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Pennsylvania Optometric Association, and currently serves as President of the Southwestern Optometric Society. She was honored to be named the Southwestern Optometric Society Young Optometrist of the Year in 2021, 2023, and 2026.
Prior to returning to the area, Dr. Brown practiced for eight years at a private optometry practice in Johnstown, PA. She provides full-scope optometric care with special interests in the treatment and management of glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, and macular degeneration.
Dr. Brown is excited to be back in her hometown serving her local community. She and her husband, Caleb, have two sons and a mini Goldendoodle, Charlie. Outside the office, Dr. Brown enjoys baking, playing piano, and spending time with family and friends.
