CHOT provides Pediatric Occupational Therapy Services in New Hanover, Pender and Brunswick Counties. We are specialists in the needs of children.

Our Therapy team at Creative Hands consists of professional, licensed Occupational Therapists and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants. We have extensive experience working with kids with Autism, Genetic disorders, developmental delays,Fine motor delays, feeding and oral-motor problems, behavioral problems, ADHD, and Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD). Treatment of the whole child and collaboration with family and other professionals is our priority.

Happy Meet the Therapist Monday!!! ⭐️✨ Meet Laney and read more about her below:

Hi! My name is Laney, and I graduated from Tennessee Wesleyan University with my Master’s in Occupational Therapy! I’ve always wanted to work with kids. I first learned about OT in my high school psychology class, which is when I decided to trade my dream of becoming a teacher for a career as an Occupational Therapist!

I was born and raised in the Carolinas (Go Gamecocks!) and am so happy to be back on the coast! Outside of OT, I love reading, watching sports, and spending time with friends.

I’m so excited to be part of Creative Hands OT and to work with kids, helping them become as independent and successful as possible!

Happy Meet the Therapist Monday! 🩵 Welcome Deni! Read more about her below:

Hi, I’m Denitsa, but most people call me Deni! I’m originally from Bulgaria, but I’ve been lucky to call North Carolina home for most of my life. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from UNC-Wilmington and my Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Appalachian State University as part of the program’s inaugural cohort.

My passion for occupational therapy began in high school and has continued to grow throughout my education and clinical experiences. I’m especially excited to be at CHOT, where I had the opportunity to learn and grow as a student, and now continue that journey as an occupational therapist! I love getting to know each child and finding creative, fun ways to help them build confidence, gain independence, and succeed in the things that matter most to them.

Outside of work, I enjoy reading, crafting, spending time with my family, and traveling to new places. I’m always up for a new adventure and love bringing creativity and fun into everything I do!

Monday Meet the Therapist!🩵✨⭐️ Meet Kalie, read more about her below!:

Hi! My name is Makalie, but everyone calls me Kalie. I’m originally from Asheboro, NC and recently moved to Wilmington, NC to complete my occupational therapy program’s clinical rotations and be with my husband, as he is enrolled at UNCW. I obtained a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science at Appalachian State University, then earned my Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy at Pfeiffer University.

My passion for occupational therapy began after seeing my dad recover from multiple orthopedic surgeries and seeing how occupational therapy shaped his recovery. I loved how the occupational therapist’s on his team focused on my dad gaining back his independence and improving his quality of life, and it inspired me to learn more about the profession. During graduate school, I completed my first clinical rotation with CHOT and instantly fell in love with the pediatric setting. The community and environment was beyond welcoming, and I am so excited to be part of the team!

Outside of work, I enjoy running and lifting weights, being outdoors, fishing, and spending time with family and friends!

So grateful to drop off treats at NSCL this morning for their amazing teachers and staff! At Creative Hands OT | Pediatric Occupational Therapy we love supporting our community and this amazing school. PS- they still have openings for this school year K-5th. Praying for a wonderful school year for Northside School of Christian Leadership… enjoy the goodies! 🫶🏻
