🗣️This September, we’re creating space for ‘One More Conversation’ about connection, community, mental health and what it means to remain human in a world that keeps becoming more digital. This year’s theme, Choose Human: Beyond the Algorithm, is a reminder that no amount of technology can replace being seen, heard and genuinely connected to one another.

🗓️ We’re honored to welcome Aida Rodriguez as our keynote speaker for an evening rooted in honesty, laughter, reflection and purpose.

This year we’re reminding young people and their families that they do not have to navigate life, mental health or today’s digital pressures alone.

July is Minority Mental Health Awareness Month. Who in your life could benefit from a simple check-in? Mental health conversations save lives.
In May it was an honor to join Jawan Strader on NBC 6’s Voices during Mental Health Awareness Month to discuss one of the most important issues of our time—mental health.
As a board-certified psychiatrist, I’ve witnessed firsthand that mental health affects every aspect of our lives: our families, workplaces, schools, military communities, and neighborhoods. Yet stigma continues to prevent too many people from seeking the help they deserve.

I was also privileged to share the stage with Michelle Shirley, an incredible community leader who is equally committed to advancing awareness and ensuring that mental health remains a priority—not just during Mental Health Awareness Month, but every day of the year.

These conversations matter because they:
🧠 Normalize seeking help.
💚 Encourage early intervention.
🤝 Foster compassion and understanding.
🌍 Remind us that mental health is health.

Thank you to Jawan Strader and the entire NBC 6 team for providing a platform to educate, inspire, and advocate for better mental health outcomes in our communities.

The break is just as important as the work. 🤍

Rest is not laziness, and slowing down does not mean you are falling behind. Your mind and body need space to breathe, reset, and recover. Give yourself permission to pause without guilt because caring for yourself is part of the work, too.
