Freedom of speech has definitely become important over the years and especially highlighted in today’s time. But because of a certain individual, it has become easier for people to be able to share their thoughts and opinions toward a topic. Enter Jack Dorsey, the man responsible for the creation of Twitter for many users to type their feelings digitally. What did Dorsey go through in order to get Twitter to be a successful idea?

During his teenage years, Dorsey got his start as a programmer where he began with taxi, courier, and emergency vehicle dispatching through the internet. Later in the 2000s, Dorsey started considering the idea of instant messaging through his early experience in dispatching. He’d contact his friends, particularly Stone and Williams, to work together on a 6 year project that would be established as Twitter. Dorsey would then send out the first tweet in 2006.

Throughout his life, Dorsey has become well known for 2 lessons that he applies to himself at best:

𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗶𝘁 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲

Adding complexities to the idea of what business to run can make for a lot of work. Instead, he made the concept simple and it became easier to manage his business. People have so many words to say despite the limited characters, giving readers and followers something to work with. It wouldn’t be very appealing to read long form text messages compared to short and concise.

𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗱𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲

While people think living the business life is all about an unusual pattern of living, Jack Dorsey thinks otherwise. Only when his life is organized with a clear routine everyday, can he really work towards being successful. He plans out his week in advance and focuses on one thing each day. He takes a long walk to work everyday and also does meditation. Dorsey also stated that he eats just one meal per day at dinnertime between the hours of 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m.

When you create this sense of trust and communication within your company, it should also be translated towards your customers by providing the best quality product or service rather than convincing paying customers by cheap sale tactics.

That being said, she writes this book that slowly opens the minds of the readers to make use of their talents and skills in a form of side hustle or a business that can be turned into income. You don’t need to be a risk taker to start but rather, approaching it as a passion project with smart decision making using data along with strategic marketing that can get you a head start in the entrepreneurial life.

Charles Duhigg teaches us that there’s a better way to approach your business life as an entrepreneur. By realizing that a long term goal can be approached in a smarter way by using small reminders, you don’t need to hustle everyday to get to that goal as fast as you can. What many people don’t understand is that entrepreneurs are also normal human beings who make mistakes. One simple mistake of doing something negative to the public’s eye leads to people quickly analyzing that particular behavior.

Have you ever wondered what the story is behind a company with the red words titled Virgin? Maybe you’ve seen it as “Virgin Mobile” before but the man behind it had quite an interesting history.

Meet Richard Branson, a British entrepreneur who started the Virgin Group company. But what did it take to get this far?

Branson was a school dropout and faced a condition of dyslexia. Despite that, he entered into his first successful business venture creating Student magazine. He then formed Virgin Mail Order Records to raise funds and managed to open a British discount record store. Then in 1984, Branson became the majority backer of the airline that he renamed Virgin Atlantic Airways. By the 1990s the Virgin conglomerate consisted of 100 businesses, including Virgin Megastores. In 2006 Branson had the idea of selling Virgin Mobile, a wireless phone service, though he remained the largest shareholder of the company.

Here are 2 lessons Branson picked up as he was on his way to making his own business success:

𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝘂𝗯𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘄𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴

Branson had to deal with his condition of being dyslexic throughout his life and his teachers even claimed that he was a hopeless case. He was bullied at a young age for his condition despite being taller than the majority of his classmates. These experiences led him to delegated the areas of his business that he struggled with, which freed up his time to focus on his strengths.

𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸

Most companies will stick to the main core of their business which is usually focused on one type of category. With Branson however, he took a different approach. Richard believes that the biggest risk is to invest money in a business you do not know. As mentioned before, Virgin Group isn’t just known for making Virgin Mobile. It carries many businesses under its name to “change the business for good” while providing incredible experiences.
