I am eternally grateful and deeply humbled for the honor of receiving this proclamation from our state, presented by the Honorable Shevrin Jones, our future Congressman.
To be recognized for work that has stretched across the last 40 years is more than a moment; it is a reflection of a journey. And I say **“we”** because this work was never done by me alone. It was shaped by every person who has touched my life, every soul who poured into me, challenged me, corrected me, loved me, supported me, and even those who taught me through pain. Whether the impact was good or difficult, it became a lesson, a learning curve, and a part of the purpose that God continues to unfold.
Thank you to Mary **“Cookie”** Henry of Eva’s Grace for nominating me without me even knowing. Your thoughtfulness, love, and recognition touched my heart in a way words can hardly express.
To my family, my children, my mentors, my mentees, the Halfwayhouse Coalition, and the National Halfwayhouse Board of Directors: thank you. Each of you has been a thread in this beautiful tapestry of service, sacrifice, restoration, and hope.
This proclamation is not just a piece of paper. It is a reminder of lives touched, doors opened, second chances given, and purpose fulfilled.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you. I receive this honor with humility, gratitude, and renewed commitment to keep doing the work.
