Some journeys into parenthood are gentle, and some ask everything of you before placing the greatest gift in your arms. 💙

After a long, hard labor, these first-time parents welcomed their beautiful baby boy into the world through an incredible vaginal birth. Through every challenge and every transition, she leaned on the unwavering love and support of her husband and her mother—three hearts working together toward one unforgettable moment.

And then, finally… he was here.

A tiny boy who was already so deeply loved before he ever took his first breath earthside. Watching two people become a family of three never gets old. Strength, perseverance, trust, and love carried this family through.

Welcome to the world, sweet boy. Your story began with courage, and your parents were made for you. 💙

So incredibly proud to congratulate Theresa on officially passing her board exams and becoming a licensed midwife! ✨

Theresa has been an integral part of this practice since the beginning — as a birth assistant and midwifery student, and now stepping into this next chapter as one of the midwives contracting with our practice. Alongside serving families in the home birth setting, she also continues to care for women as a BSN-trained Labor & Delivery nurse on the weekends. 💙

Her dedication to women-centered care, calm presence, and passion for birth work have been such a gift to our clients and community. This accomplishment reflects years of hard work, commitment, and heart.

A day in my life:
Broken sleep Tuesday night fielding laboring Mom questions

Early week, Wednesday to get everybody off to school and meet the patient at the Birth center

Reschedule my entire clinic day to have people be seen at the birth center instead of my Clinic space, do not get behind an entire day of prenatal visits

Take care of the laboring patient the entire day, the entire night and into the wee hours of the morning.

Finally sleep about four hours after being up for greater than 24.

Go out to do chores and find that animals have likely eaten a toxic plant. Treat sad animals then try to make a cup of coffee and get to school pick up in time.

Does inducing labor increase cesarean risk? New research in midwifery-led settings offers important insight.
In a large cohort study of over 7,000 term births, labor induction, including elective induction at 39 weeks: was not associated with higher cesarean birth rates compared to expectant management. Outcomes like postpartum hemorrhage, neonatal status, and NICU admissions were also similar across groups.
What stood out? Care context matters. Midwifery-led, collaborative practice models may play a key role in supporting vaginal birth, even when labor is induced.
As induction rates continue to rise, understanding how care practices shape outcomes is critical for informed, patient-centered decision-making.
