This week, Melissa Memorial Hospital welcomed the 988 Colorado Mental Health Line team to begin an important conversation about expanding awareness of mental health resources in our community.

The 988 line is a simple, easy-to-remember number that connects individuals to free, confidential support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Whether someone is experiencing stress, emotional distress, a mental health concern, or simply needs someone to talk to, trained specialists are available to listen and help.

Increasing awareness of 988 is a meaningful step in ensuring that support is accessible when it is needed most. No one has to navigate challenges alone.

•Dates: June 10 and July 24
•Time: 1 to 3 pm
•Cost: $20 during these event dates
•Location: Family Practice of Holyoke
1001 E. Johnson Street, Holyoke, CO 80734
•No appointment needed
•Parents must be in attendance
•CHASA Sports Physical form must be completed by parents

Sports physicals are required for school sports participation, and we are here to make the process simple for families.

Looking to save time?

You also have the option to schedule a well-child visit at the same time. This allows you to complete both your child’s annual exam and sports physical in one visit.

Well-child visits must be scheduled in advance by calling 970-854-2500.

Cannot attend these dates?
Sports physicals are available year-round for $30 outside of event dates.

Today we are highlighting infusion services at Melissa Memorial Hospital. From iron and gout treatments to multiple sclerosis therapies and chemotherapy, our team provides a range of infusion care, allowing patients to stay close to home for treatment. Big news for Melissa Memorial Hospital and our EMS team.

We recently added two new ambulances to our fleet to better serve Phillips County and the surrounding region. This investment helps ensure we can respond quickly, safely, and with the equipment needed to provide high-quality care on every call.

In May alone, our ambulance service:

•Responded to 20 emergency 911 calls
•Completed 23 interfacility transfers across Phillips County and the Eastern Plains
•Provided 46 non-emergency transports (NEMT)
•Supported 18 retail pharmacy deliveries
•Assisted with 3 public relations requests

These numbers reflect the consistent demand for EMS services and the important role our team plays in keeping patients connected to care, both locally and across the Eastern Plains.

These new ambulances strengthen our ability to serve you when it matters most while supporting the safety and reliability our community depends on.

Thank you to our EMS team for the dedication and care you bring to every call.

If severe weather is occurring in your area, please do not leave your home to travel to your appointment. Instead, contact the clinic directly. You will not be charged a cancellation fee for weather-related cancellations.

Exciting news for Melissa Memorial Hospital and our community.

Urology services are coming to MMH, bringing much-needed specialty care closer to home.

We are pleased to welcome Jacob Khurgin, D.O., a board-certified urologist with over a decade of experience. Dr. Khurgin specializes in men’s health, male reproductive and fertility issues, reconstructive urological surgery, and general urologic care including stone disease, urinary disorders, and surgical interventions. He is known for his personalized, patient-focused approach to care.

Dr. Khurgin completed his medical training at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, with advanced training at Einstein Medical Center and Johns Hopkins Hospital.

This addition reflects our continued commitment to expanding access to high-quality care right here in our community.
