Labor Day Closure Notice

Melissa Memorial Hospital clinics and administrative offices will be closed on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day.

Our Emergency Department will remain open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to provide care when you need it most.

We wish everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend as we take time to recognize and celebrate the hardworking individuals who help keep our communities strong.

EMS Golf Tournament Update

After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year's EMS Golf Tournament. Unfortunately, we did not receive enough team registrations to move forward with the event.

While we are disappointed not to host the tournament this year, we are excited to shift our fundraising efforts toward an Online EMS Fundraising Auction, which will allow even more community members to participate and support our EMS team.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who has already contributed through sponsorships, donations, and support of this event. All donated items will be utilized as part of the online auction. Auction items will also be available for public viewing at Melissa Memorial Hospital throughout the month of September.

In addition to the online auction, we are working to finalize plans for several exciting fundraising opportunities, including raffles and a ball drop. Our goal is to create a fun and accessible way for the entire community to get involved while supporting the important work of our EMS department.

We are currently finalizing the details and will share additional information with the community as soon as it becomes available.

We're beginning to plan this year's Trunk or Treat at the Phillips County Courthouse and would love your input!

With Halloween falling on Saturday, we're trying to decide which evening works best for families:

Thursday, October 29 • School activities • Avoids having kids dress up three nights in a row • Gives families Friday to relax or attend other activities

Friday, October 30 • No school that day • Closer to Halloween weekend • May be more convenient for some families

Get to Know Us: Jordan Bernard

This week, we're excited to introduce Jordan Bernard!

Born and raised in Holyoke, Jordan is proud to serve the community she has always called home. Jordan works as the Lead Medical Assistant for the Clinic and Specialty Clinic at Melissa Memorial Hospital, supporting a variety of specialty services including cardiology, podiatry, orthopedics, general surgery, and pain management. In addition to her clinic role, she also works part-time as a CNA on the hospital floor and assists as an EMS driver, helping support patient transfer needs throughout the region.

When she's not at work, Jordan enjoys spending time with her dog, Cali, a poodle-chihuahua mix.

What Jordan enjoys most about her work is the opportunity to give back to the community that helped shape her. She takes pride in helping patients receive the care and support they need and finds it especially rewarding when community members remember her growing up in Holyoke. Being able to care for the same people and community that helped raise her makes her work meaningful every day.

We're excited to announce the addition of a dedicated Pediatric Therapy Room at Melissa Memorial Hospital, made possible through grant funding.

This new space was thoughtfully designed with our youngest patients in mind and will support both occupational and physical therapy services in an environment that is welcoming, engaging, and tailored to children's unique needs.

By creating a space specifically for pediatric therapy, we're able to enhance the care experience for children and families while continuing our commitment to providing high-quality rehabilitation services close to home.

We are grateful for the grant support that made this project possible and look forward to serving more children in our community for years to come. Every child deserves the opportunity to grow, learn, and thrive, and we're proud to provide a space that helps make that possible.
