We kicked off the first session of Cooking with Joey today at Ellen Memorial! 🥗🍍

Before joining our community, Joey was a chef in New Jersey, and he's sharing some of his favorite recipes with us. Since it was a little too warm to turn on the stove, we recreated his refreshing "Suddenly Summer Salad," featuring mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, red onion, pecans, charred pineapple, avocado, and a honey lime dressing.

It was a delicious start to what we hope becomes a favorite monthly tradition. We can't wait to see what Joey has cooking for us next! 👨‍🍳💚

The weather may have changed our plans, but it didn't stop us from enjoying our annual BBQ luncheon together.

A big thank you to our incredible staff for making the day such a success and helping create a wonderful celebration for our residents.

The residents at Ellen Memorial have been hard at work creating decorations to celebrate America's 250th Anniversary!

A special thank you to Grace, our Activity Aide, for generously donating all of the wood and carving each piece for our residents to paint. Your creativity and dedication helped make this project possible, and our residents have enjoyed every minute of it!

We can't wait to showcase their patriotic masterpieces! ❤️🤍💙

It is the last day of Nursing Home Week and our long journey to distant lands led us back to the USA! We celebrated with pizza and hoagies, an ice cream social with our local ombudsman, Kim, who showed us her new game on residents' rights, and ended with our pool noodle javelin competition.
We have an amazing team here at Ellen. From nursing, to dietary, to maintenance, to activities, to laundry, to medical records, and administration. Each department works tirelessly to provide 24- hour care and compassion to every resident. We are grateful to you all every day.
