One of the most meaningful parts of hospice care is creating moments that honor not only a person’s service, but who they are and what they love. 🇺🇸

Through Mālama Ola’s We Honor Veterans Program, our team recently created one of those special moments for Gary, an Air National Guard veteran who served during the Vietnam era and a lifelong hot rod enthusiast.

After learning that Gary once owned a Shelby GT500KR, our team reached out to fellow car enthusiasts to bring a little of that passion back to him. This past weekend, four Shelby owners from across the island, along with fellow veterans, came together to share the unmistakable roar of engines. It was a morning filled with memories and camaraderie.

For a few precious moments, it wasn’t about illness or age. It was about Gary and a community helping his passion roar a little louder.
