How much smaller are you supposed to get?

Before your confidence stops being “too much”? Before you can feel sexy without defending your intentions?

Never dull your shine to make someone else comfortable. ✨ You deserve to express yourself without taking responsibility for every uncomfortable feeling it brings up in your partner.

If keeping the peace means continually sacrificing your authenticity, where is the room for their growth? You can offer reassurance while still expecting them to take responsibility for their reactions.

This conversation goes beyond gender. In the energy framework I use, we all embody masculine and feminine energy in different proportions. Both can be expressed in healthy and unhealthy ways.

✅ Here’s what I mean by a healthy, mature partner expressing masculine energy:

• They support your self-expression while communicating their own needs respectfully.
• They can admit, “I’m feeling insecure,” without making an accusation.
• They respect your autonomy, including when you disagree.
• They take responsibility for repairing hurtful behavior.

🚩 That does NOT include:

• Calling control “protection.”
• Mocking what makes you feel beautiful or alive.
• Treating their jealousy as proof of their love.
• Expecting you to change yourself so they never have to examine their own development.

You can love your partner and expect them to grow alongside you. Your authenticity deserves a place in this world and in your relationship.

I teach relationship skills and emotional intelligence in my 28-day Roommates to Romance program.

The hardest part of rebuilding my marriage was admitting how angry I was. At my husband, at myself, and at the way my life had turned out.

I hadn’t wanted children. When I became pregnant against very low odds, I made the decision to carry my daughter. I went through a high-risk pregnancy while deathly ill with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, carrying the fear of what had happened to a friend with the same condition during delivery.

Then I became a mother inside a life that revolved around work. Alex’s shifts changed every week, and I felt like I was single parenting 70% of the time.

We had worked so hard for our home and everything in it. I struggled to reconcile that life with how miserable I felt living it.

I reached my limit on the bathroom floor. I told Alex we were selling everything and moving to Hawaii together, or I was leaving. He didn’t hesitate. He quit his job, and we started over.

I wish I could tell you that my resentment disappeared when our circumstances changed. It took me a long time to release it. If I ever share my journals from that period, you’ll see how dark it became. You’ll also see a woman learning to stop abandoning her own needs.

I had spent so much energy trying to look professional, stay accommodating, and make my experiences acceptable to other people. I feared being dismissed for speaking about energy and the ways I felt it in my body.

That lowest point changed what I was willing to hide. I became clearer about my boundaries and less attached to controlling the outcome. I could ask for the relationship I wanted while accepting that I could not do both people’s work.

Alex and I found our way back to connection through changes we both chose to make. I know how vulnerable it can feel to admit that the life you helped build is hurting you.

You can love your partner and need your relationship to change.

A letter to the little girl I used to be 💌

She was shy. A people pleaser before she even knew what that meant.

She was scared of being seen — because visibility calls in the good and the bad equally, and she wasn't sure she could survive the bad. So she hid. She hid so well that she didn't actually believe she was smart until college, when the grades made it impossible to argue with.

I can still feel her anxiety in my body when I think of her. The anxiety of being wrong. Of being unliked. Of being unloved. Of feeling embarrassed.

Well, my sweet girl. Listen to me.

We're in the top 1% of our field. We've won 10 awards — some of them global. We're on TV. Published in books. Magazine articles every single year.

We've healed thousands of couples. We've empowered hundreds of women to build lives that actually prioritize themselves.

We matter. You matter.

And I am so proud of you — for doing the hard things, for being uncomfortable, for making brave choices even though they were scary. You started all of this.

I hope you know you are loved. 💕

Now go choose her.

If you were the shy girl too — the one who hid — what would you tell her now? I read every single one. 👇

Comment QUIZ and I'll send you my free 8 Forms of Intimacy quiz — because the woman you hid is still in there, and she deserves to be known.

Woo-woo girl to woo-woo girl: let’s find our people. 🌸

The women who can talk about intuition, intimacy, and protecting their peace… then immediately send you a ridiculous meme. 😂

If you believe in energy but love someone who raises an eyebrow at your crystals, you’ll feel at home here.

I’m Dr. B—a relationship energy healer, therapist, and fellow woman who wants the romance AND the magic. 🧡

Around here, we talk about feeling understood, changing those repeating relationship patterns, and keeping desire alive—with personal stories, practical tools, and a little playfulness.

I’m at 7.5K and working toward 10K by the end of November. I’d love to build a community that actually connects.

Follow me, my woo-woo girls. I’ll follow back, and let’s get to know each other. 🌸

My woo woo girls: he doesn’t have to understand our energy work to see that you’re exhausted. 🧡

Maybe you call it protecting your energy.
He calls it needing a quiet evening.

You want to feel the magic.
He wants to know what, exactly, you’re asking him to do.

I see you. You love this person. You just want your softness, your joy, and the things that make you feel like YOU to have a little support.

Here’s what to say:

“You don’t have to believe in energy the way I do. But when I tell you something leaves me feeling drained, I need you to take it seriously.

I’d love for you to ask, ‘What’s been draining you, and how can I help?’

Sometimes that means listening without trying to fix it. Sometimes it means protecting a little time for us. Sometimes it means being curious about something I love—even if it isn’t your thing.”

Give him a real example:

“When I share something I’m excited about, ask me a question before making a joke. I want to feel close to you in those moments.”

You don’t need matching spiritual vocabularies to ask for thoughtfulness.

He can skip the moon ritual and still make you feel like the woman he’s happy to come home to. 😉

Follow me for ways to protect your energy and bring the magic back into the relationship you love. 🧡

You want “can’t keep our hands off each other” energy… I’m going to need more than your credit card. 😂

Okay, let me guess.

You want your partner to kiss you like they’ve missed you. Flirt with you when there’s no special occasion. Occasionally interrupt your very important household meeting about what’s defrosting for dinner with something wildly inappropriate. 🤭

You love them. You’d just like to be seduced by something other than “I unloaded the dishwasher.”

I’m Dr. B, a relationship therapist, clinical sexologist, and relational energy healer. I bring the expertise AND the woo—so you and your “but where’s the research?” partner can both feel at home. 🧡

My couples intimacy-building retreats make room to explore the romance you actually want: lingering kisses, playful anticipation, and catching their eye across the room with a look that says, “Get your shoes. We’re leaving.”

But there is one thing I cannot pack into your retreat for you…

Your participation. 😂

You can book the day. Buy the plane tickets. Wear the outfit that makes your partner forget what they were saying.

Then you both have to show up for the process. Get curious. Be willing to try something unfamiliar. Bring that effort home with you.

I’m d*mn good at my job, but you have to let me do it. 🤗

I can guide you toward rebuilding desire and redesigning your romantic connection. You’re the two who get to practice it.

Think of me as your intimacy architect. I have ideas for the renovation. I do need you both on-site. 🤣
