From her first job experience at Kailua High School’s coffee cart to working on production teams today, Mili has built her path to employment one step at a time.
With support from Lanakila Pacific Employment Services, Mili explored career interests, developed screen-printing skills through a Paid Work Experience at Lanakila Pacific Custom Products, and completed six months of industrial sewing training at Aloha Cut + Cloth. Today, she works for both organizations, sewing garments and putting her production skills to work.
During National Disability Employment Awareness Month, Mili’s story shows how hands-on experience, continued guidance and employment opportunities help young people with disabilities make the transition from school to the workforce.
