This May, in honor of National Stroke Awareness Month, REHAB is proud to officially launch our Stroke Center of Excellence (COE).

With stroke being the leading cause of chronic disability in Hawaii, where a patient chooses to recover makes all the difference. Our Stroke COE is designed to provide a seamless transition across the full continuum of care—from intensive inpatient rehabilitation to outpatient services and community engagement.

We are committed to helping the people of Hawaii and the Pacific rebuild their lives and achieve lifelong
independence.

Jimmy Reis, a dedicated Honolulu firefighter, faced the fight of his life after surviving three strokes. His goal was simple but bold: "I want to walk out of here."

With the help of the team at REHAB and the unwavering support of his family and fellow firefighters, he did exactly that.
