Start Line Pediatrics is so pleased to welcome Jennifer Kadlik, MSW, LICSW, Behavioral Health Clinician, to our team beginning in May!

Jennifer is a graduate of Wheelock College in Boston and has over 10 years of solid clinical experience in MA, working with children, adolescents and families in a wide range of settings. She is coming to Start Line at this time, from private practice. Jennifer’s areas of expertise include Trauma and Post Traumatic Stress, Perinatal Mood Disorders, Parenting Issues, Attachment Disorders, Depression and Anxiety and Panic Disorders to name but a few. Jennifer will be working Mondays and Tuesdays for now.

As always, you don’t need a referral from your provider to book an appointment with Jennifer, you can book directly with one of our receptionists. Please give Jennifer a warm welcome!

Office hours for Marathon Monday.

Good luck to all of the participants of the 2026 Boston Marathon, especially our own NP Emily Curley!!!!

Due to road closures around the office, we will delay opening until 1:30 pm. While the office will be closed, our phones will be open as usual at 8:00 am, and we will be able to schedule virtual visits in the morning if needed.

Well, here we go again! 1 month to the day and we have another major snow storm, this one unfortunately looks worse. For the safety of our patients and staff, the office will be closed on Monday, 23FEB26.

Though the office will be physically closed, our phone lines will remain open as any regular day and our nurses and providers will be available for medical advice. We will also have the ability to schedule Virtual Telehealth Visits if needed. We apologize for any inconvenience; please stay safe.

Start Line Families,

Our amazing nurse practitioner Emily Curley is running the Boston Marathon this year and is raising funds in support of the Cops For Kids With Cancer nonprofit organization.

I don't think we've ever made a request like this in the past, but any donation you can make towards her fundraising would be greatly appreciated and will go towards helping ease the financial burden to families across New England who have a child with a cancer diagnosis.

Start Line Families,

A message about the recent announcement by the CDC and the changes on the CDC website as it relates to vaccines and Autism.

At Start Line Pediatrics, we agree with our colleagues at the American Academy of Pediatrics and many other medical organizations that numerous scientific studies from across the world over the past 25 years have not shown any link between vaccines and Autism. Potential links between vaccines and autism have been studied for decades. More than 40 high-quality studies in seven countries involving over 5.6 million people have found no connection.

We believe in the safety of vaccines and importance of protecting children from dangerous vaccine preventable diseases. We advocate for continued immunization of all children according to the current immunization schedule. We are concerned that the recent announcement by the CDC and the changes on the CDC website will create unnecessary fear for families who are making these important decisions for their children. Vaccines rank among our greatest medical success stories: thanks to vaccines, serious diseases that once made thousands sick every year and caused life-long health issues have become rare.

Scientists believe there is no single root cause of autism. Interactions between genetic changes and environmental influences likely play a role. Improved awareness and screening and updated diagnostic criteria have contributed to increases in autism prevalence.
