🚨 A little reminder for all my massage clients…
Your health history doesn’t end after you fill out that intake form. ❤️
Things change. You may start a new medication, have a procedure, get a new diagnosis, experience an injury, or simply notice something different with your health.
Please tell your LMT!
I know sometimes you may think, “It’s nothing major,” or “I’m sure it doesn’t matter for massage.” But it can matter more than you realize.
💊 New medications
🏥 Recent surgeries or procedures
🤕 New injuries or pain
🩺 New diagnoses
❤️ Changes in blood pressure or circulation
🦠 Recent illness or infection
💉 New treatments or medical procedures
🤰 Pregnancy or changes during pregnancy
…and anything else that has changed since your last visit.
Why?
Because massage isn't one-size-fits-all. Your health and medications can affect things like circulation, bruising, inflammation, pain sensitivity, blood pressure, and how your body responds to certain techniques.
Knowing what has changed allows your LMT to make appropriate adjustments to your session and, when necessary, determine whether massage should be modified or postponed.
This isn't about being nosy. It's about your safety. 🫶
So before your next appointment, take a minute and ask yourself:
👉 “Has anything changed with my health since my last massage?”
If the answer is yes—even if you aren't sure it's important—tell your LMT.
We would much rather know and make the appropriate adjustments than find out after the fact. Your health and safety will always come first. 💆♀️❤️
