Hello friends! I haven't done an introduction post on this page in awhile, so here it goes! ❤️
My name is Erica and I am a licensed massage therapist in NYS. My career as a massage therapist was born from my career as a licensed physical therapist assistant in PA. I went to the University of PIttsburgh and received my associate of science in physical therapy in 1999.
My first job as a PTA was at a women's hospital in Pittsburgh where I was the sole PTA with two PT's for the facility - inpatient and outpatient physical therapy for women. I had the honor of helping women on the inpatient side who had high risk pregnancies and were on bedrest with gentle exercise & movement, post csection to help them learn to walk postop & tips with transdfering in & out of bed. On the outpatient side I worked with women for inocontenience managment rehab, post mastectomy for scar tissue managment, improving range of motion & strength, lymphedema management - MLD and compression bandaging to transition into compression garments. The results achieved for patients from the manual lymphatic drainage blew me away. The power of touch, the power of massage and it led me to want to know and to offer more so I went back to massage school.
My career has offered me the opportunity to evolve and experience so many different settings and work with professional athletes in PGH, onsite work, spa settings & two of my own studios here in NY. 25 years as a massage therapist.
My offerings have evolved over the past 5 years from soley pain managment to global spa therapies. My practice totally changed after my first class with Thai herbal poultice massage. I feel revived, inspired, creative and happier in my work than I can ever remember and love seeing clients new and return, experience the variety of modalities that are seamlessly blended into each session. I love what I do, and look forward to my work each day. I'm grateful that the lymphatic work has continued to be a part of my service offerings, a testament to knowing back then that I knew this was my path!
In the treatment room you can enjoy the following services with me: gua sha facial fusion, Thai herbal poultice massage: face and body, EIM gua sha face and body, the lymphatic brush face and body, neuromuscular reprogramming, seasonal and wellness services,1:1 in person or zoom tutorials for gua sha and the lymphatic brush, group classes for gua sha and the lymphatic brush.
I’m forever passionate about education and am involved in new in person course work each year to offer my clients enhanced experiences but to also fulfill my ongoing need to learn more and be better at what I do. Lately I have had a special interest in helping clients with autoimmune disease as well as wellness for women over 40. I am passionate and dedicated to meeting each client where they are at with each session and curating a unique experience for their wellness goals. Thank you for being here!
