As ASCLD 2026 comes to a close, we’re reflecting on a few outstanding days in Grand Rapids, MI connecting with forensic leaders from across the country.

It was a pleasure engaging with so many of you to discuss current challenges and solutions in forensic toxicology and drug chemistry—from emerging compounds like kratom and medetomidine to ongoing needs in THC quantification, DUID/DRE casework, drug-facilitated crime, and pesticide analysis.

A special highlight was Amanda Andrews' presentation, “THC Conversion Matters: Ensuring Accurate Cannabinoid Testing and Reporting Under the 2018 Farm Bill,” which sparked valuable discussion around improving consistency and confidence in cannabinoid testing and reporting.
