Cooperative Christian Ministries & Clinic

Cooperative Christian Ministries & Clinic We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Hot Springs, AR. Purpose
CCMC is is guided by the teachings of Jesus and believe everyone is an image bearer of God.

The mission of CCMC is to improve life for our under-served, under-resourced neighbors by addressing physical, mental and spiritual health, practical concerns and needs, and by disrupting poverty. We are the hands and feet of faith that not only relieves human suffering, but does so in a way that preserves the dignity and respect of all we serve. We fulfill our mission by focusing on three areas o

f human need: Poverty Disruption, Charitable Healthcare Services, and Advocacy Services. Poverty Disruption
Our Bridges Out of Poverty initiative aims to disrupt generational poverty through training workshops with area businesses, organizations, and individuals to raise awareness concerning issues of poverty and provide opportunities to become agents of change. We also coordinate and administer Getting Ahead classes - free 14 week step-by-step classes offered throughout our community by various congregations and organizations - that teach people how to transition from poverty to stability and develop a strategic plan for sustainable success. Since initiating Getting Ahead in 2015, over 580 people have graduated from these classes. Classes are also offered at the Garland County Detention Center, resulting in a dramatic reduction of recidivism by those who complete the classes and are released. The state recidivism rate is 48%, but that of Detention Center Getting Ahead graduates is 22%. Charitable Healthcare Services
CCMC offers charitable medical, dental, vision, and pharmacy clinics to those who are uninsured, under-insured, and are no more than 200% above the federal poverty level. Patients are screened to ensure they meet our criteria. They are cared for by volunteer medical doctors, nurses, dentists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals. We also collaborate with area hospitals, clinics, and specialists to refer patients who may need specialized care or procedures that are beyond the capacity of our charitable clinics. Referral patient care is donated by our collaborative partners. Advocacy Services
CCMC Advocacy Services Coordinators meet regularly with people facing destabilizing circumstances who need assistance in accessing vital resources and services. We advocate on behalf of clients with landlords, utility companies, and government agencies. We assist people in need of securing their birth certificates, identification, medicaid, SNAP, and other benefits they qualify for. We work to prevent eviction for those on the verge of becoming homeless and facilitate rapid re-housing for those who have become homeless.
