✨This is a beautiful example of learning through play! ✨

At first “L” would only hand objects, repeatedly, without any functional play. Play is a powerful tool in cognitive development, language, and gross/fine motor skills.

🧸INTRODUCTION OF NEW TOY 🧸

1) puts the ball “in” (learned though play in previous sessions) - relational play

2) looks INSIDE toy for the ball (object permanence)

3) hand-over-hand demonstration (cause & effect)

4) plays with toy independently 👏👏

Remember at first , she would only hand objects to me over and over and over! She’s come so far and the parents have been amazing with carryover at home!😊😊

Followers, please trust your gut when it comes to your babies! What was diagnosed as a "milk-protein allergy" in the morning was actually a salmonella infection!! 😡
By the time we made it to Children's, she was severely dehydrated. 😢😢 We have no idea where the infection came from and had we blindly trusted the diagnosis, it could have been fatal Mommas, ask questions, advocate and get answers!!
Thank you to my therapy families who have been so patient and understanding. I will see you next week for more learning through play.🥰

There are some days I think I do crazy things for the kiddos and some days I KNOW I do crazy things for the kiddos and this is a CrAzY day! 🤪 But teaching children about our nation’s 🇺🇸250th birthday🇺🇸 and having something to remember it by is worth any mess. More pics to come tomorrow! ❤️🤍💙

My friends weren’t “bugged” by learning through play on the bus lately! 🐞🐜🐛🕷️ The bugs came back with some amazing teaching opportunities, and a couple new games for extra fun too! 😀😀 All the kids love the “bus” and can’t wait to come and play!

Look who couldn’t be happier to break out of Arkansas Children’s Hospital this evening!🌸😊

What went from a terrifying possibility to ending up as something very treatable, we would like to thank the Doctors; Nurses, PCTs and Social Workers for the teamwork, knowledge and compassion while figuring out what she needs to feel better! 💗💗
